Hi! I followed the wiki informations and the README.setup steps to install a local build service, and seems that almost everything is working. But the "Build Status" of the packages are just "scheduled". [opensuse-buildservice] Package request: libwxgtk on xUbuntu

Hi, some of my packages require wxWidgets. The builds for openSUSE and Fedora were sucessfully but with xUbuntu i get the following error message: "expansion error - nothing provides libwxgtk2.8-dev". So far i could figure out, libwxgtk2.x is part of the universe repository. My Question is now if there is any chance to get these packages in the xUbuntu configuration? [opensuse-buildservice] OpenOffice 2.3.0.1.2-4.1 on OpenSUSE 10.2

Hi, trying to install OpenOffice 2.3.0.1.2-4.1 (STABLE) from buildservice i get that there are not providers for libsfx680lx.so()(64bit). Anybody have seen this? [opensuse-buildservice] BuildRequires --- whats available?

Hi, I'm new to OBS but quite confident with packaging. I have some Questions to usecases of BuildRequires: a) I have a package to build with a specific java version I specified "java-sdk >= 1.5.0" build build reported failed build dependencies. Is this because of: [ ] non-oss software [ ] the use of feature names instead of package names in BuildRequires b) I have a stack of independent packages, forming a dependency graph: One of them needs the xxx-devel package of the other. Unpredictably build fails sometimes because of "nothing provides xxx-devel" How can I make build to search in my home-project for the other package? [opensuse-buildservice] Ubuntu/Debian X86_64?

Hi there, I use some packages that are built with Opensuse build service (heartbeat) to be specific, and I was wondering if the build service has plans to support x86_64 builds for Debian based system? If so that would be really great! If there are no current plans please consider adding this to your roadmap. Thanks again for an excellent service. Not true. The same restricted formats are unavailable in Gentoo/FreeBSD/Debian/Ubuntu until you add 3rd party repositories, which were built and created by people that aren't part of that distribution's "offical team." You still have the same problem. If you're this paranoid about third-party packages you'd do best to buy a commercial distro such as SLED 10 and only update from its official update source. It seems anything built by the community-at-large would not be trusted by you... it would be nearly impossible to achieve the level of integrity that you're asking for, unless a company was involved that verified each package didn't do anything nasty (that's why I mention a commercial distro). Just doing an md5 sum of a package and signing it doesn't guarantee that the packager still isn't doing something evil in the package itself... you'd still have to trust the package maintainer at the end of the day. [opensuse-buildservice] Redirector issues.

Greetings All, The redirector is causing problems again. Now with installation for many users. Some of the mirrors are broken or under heavy load, but the redirector is still redirecting people to those mirrors. This coupled with the fact that the openSUSE installer now selects "use online repositories" by default (a good thing) means that many people are experiencing failed installations. The real problem is the mirror "sticky" that means people always get the same mirror. This means that if the user gets a bad mirror and a package download timeout then the installation has essentially failed. If the user clicks retry he/she will get the same mirror, and a timeout again, and again. There is approximately 1minute timeout between attempts, and several hundred packages to install from online sources by default. This means even if the user clicks "skip" for each package it will take hours to complete the install. So the install has effectively failed because of the redirector's mirror sticky. Quite a number of users have commented on this behaviour, I have experienced it myself with 2 installs already. It has also been mentioned in some reviews, contributing to overall bad reviews of 10.3. Other distribution's solutions: 1: Round Robin DNS + No problem with redirector server going down + If one of the mirrors in rotation is broken clicking "retry" will likely select a good mirror. + Location based mirror selection not possible but can have e.g. eu.download.opensuse.org, us.download.opensuse.org ... etc - Frequently changing repositories such as on the build service, could bounce between new metadata & old packages and vice versa. 2: Mirror list files Other distributions use mirror-list-files which the package manager interprets. + No sticking-to-bad-mirror problem of the redirector. + Avoids the bouncing between mirrors problem of RR DNS. - The server with the mirror list on needs to be up when it is requested. - Cannot be achieved without modifying the client package management software. Sticky breaks installations, no sticky breaks general package management - what is the solution? Can the redirector do better checking on mirror availability and status? any thoughts? [opensuse-buildservice] Problems with login to Web UI

Hi all I noticed that there are still some minor problems with the Web UI login for the build service. On a fresh Windows install, I went to 'http://build.opensuse.org'. It took a long time, then ultimately I was redirected to https://build.opensuse.org with the Novell banner and the text "504 Gateway Time-Out". If I then click the 'login' button I get a login form, which I fill in and then receive an error about 'illegal destination' and 'possible phishing attempt'. If enter my details into the login form *again* I get taking instead to www.novell.com. Next I enter the address 'http://build.opensuse.org' again. I get the 504 error again. This time if I click 'login' then I am redirected to 'https://www.novell.com/ICSIBroker/?%22https://build.opensuse.org/%22-T' which has the Novell banner and footer, but is otherwise a blank page with no error message. Looks like some problems crept in with the recent changes to the login stuff? Hi, the openSUSE:Factory distro got an update and does use gcc 4.3 from now on as default compiler.
