[opensuse-buildservice] %debug_package issues with Suse only

Hi, I have hit a weird issue when enabling %debug_package when wrapped inside something like this: %if 0%{?suse_version} %debug_package Build Requires: blah... %endif If %debug_package is enabled, the install portion fails on all Suse versions by seemingly unsetting RPM_BUILD_ROOT so the install part tries to install into /usr not /var/tmp/package/usr Package in question is: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?project=home%3Amrdocs&package=gsview Now Mandriva seems to automagically enable debug packages, so there is no need to enable it in the spec file. This package has reliably built before on OBS on all rpm distros and arches. Is this a subtle difference in the rpm versions from FC. Mdk and Suse ? or could this be an OBS issue? Thoughts ? [opensuse-buildservice] CSS issue with new web UI

Hi all I think that the file-editor interface for the Web UI of OBS took a step back in the recent update. When I edit a text file (eg a .spec) file online now via the Web UI, the <textarea> does not occupy the full width of my screen, and also the text it contains is much smaller than my default font size. I think that for best usability this textarea should take up as much space as is available. Sorry, just a very small issue, hope it's OK to report it here. We're a company that regularly produces some RPMs in the course of our work that we would like to share with the public. Instead of each colleague creating their own personal project, would it be appropriate to create a top-level company-specific project? Hi, I get: expansion error have choice for pinentry-gui needed by kdepim: pinentry-gtk pinentry-qt https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?project=home%3Aamilcarlucas&package… while compiling KDevelop (KDevelop does not require pine, nor kdepim). [opensuse-buildservice] Stripping debug info into a separate rpm?

Hi, Is there a method to strip debug into a foo-debuginfo.rpm package instead of keeping it in the main rpm file? For a few libraries that I'm building the debug symbols are actually larger than the library rpm file itself, so splitting those out to a separate rpm file would be great.

This is intended to make the service more robust. Seems to work indeed, after fixing one typo messed it up completely ;) adrian: * openSUSE:Factory rpm update, including new gettext package name scheme * applying some requested package mappings for non-SUSE. * forwarded CentOS/RHEL base distro request to openSUSE board * discussion with mls and mkudlvasr how to make the backend code easier to understand AI: adrian check if valid email adress is enforced for OBS fs: webmaster(a)suse.de feedback: * lots of happy users due to the new 1-click install :) * still bugreports about downloading DVD images that download is stalling at 105%. This seems mostly caused by IE browser, which does not support large files. [opensuse-buildservice] Recommended method to get at universe for Ubuntu?

Hi, What is the easiest / recommended method for getting at a package in universe for building ubuntu packages using obs? The xerces-c XML parser gives expansion errors if attempts are made to build for ubuntu 7,10 http://packages.ubuntu.com/gutsy/libs/libxerces27 For Fedora 7 updates its somewhat easy to create a subproject, rpm2cpio the src.rpm from F7 updates and import it into the subproject. Have obs rebuild the package as it would be in updates. Then make a dependency on that subproject from the F7 repo on my main obs project. I'm not quite up to speed with how to suck in a package from the debian sources though... I suspect that the universe / updates for "distro-other-than-novell" issue would bite many others too.
