I wish to upgrade my office workstation from 11.1 to 11.2 on a corporate
network served by Novell OES2/SLES/NOWS.
But yet another time this looks to be prevented as far as the Novell
Client 2.0 SP2 (currently for SLED11 and works for 11.1), isn't made
availabe for openSUSE 11.2.
Why isn't a new port of the current native Novell clients coordinated
and delievered in time for every new openSUSE release, i.e on the
non-OSS add-on CD/DVD?
* Novell Client 2.0 SP2 for Linux
* GroupWise 8 Client for Linux
(The iFolder 3 is already available)
(I tried to install NCL 2.0 SP2 on 11.2 RC2 x86_64, but got an error
message:
Nothing contains libbfd-2.19.so (64bit) which is required by
novell-xtier-base-3.1.6-12.x86_64)

Hi,
I just did a test on a boot from a RAID1, works well.
Then I degraded the RAID1 by taking out one disk, the system fails to boot.
Reattached disk and it booted fine.
Took out the other disk in the raid, boot fails.
Reattached disk and it booted fine.
The Yast boot loader program tells me that the boot loader is
installed to both disks and that "Enable redundancy for md array" is
checked.
Any suggestions to where I start to look?
Kind Regards
Birger

I have not yet tried the M2 NET install, but M1 fails while getting
the repo information. It does not get to the install stage.

I cannot get far enough to install any GUI. In fact, this machine does
not even have X on it. It is a command-line only system.
> 3. Will Windows 7 run on this machine? XP? Fedora 12 beta / Ubuntu 9.10?
I would not ever install any Windows system on this machine, although
it had Windows 2000 on it when I bought it. It is reserved for testing
the PCMCIA b43legacy and b43 wireless drivers. I have not tried F12 or
Ubuntu.

The LiveCD requires i686 - It is not possible for me.

1. Fortunately the annoying Reboot/Shutdown (gdm/console kit) and
resolv.conf bugs are fixed, at least both work correctly on my RC2 systems.
2. Unfortunately Network Manager still cannot manage OpenVPN connections
(Bug 538839), which in my oppinion is user important:
It's remarkable, because I reported the same or a similar issue during
the SLED11 beta which then was fixed (patched) by Novell and next for
11.1, and I think also send upstreams.
3. Another message which still popup when I logon to a KDE session (a
system where I change between Gnome and KDE from the GDM menu), is this
one from the KDE session manager:
KDE could not start "gnome-starter.bsh". Could not find
gnome-starter.bsh executeable.
Is this a bug or ..?

I ran 'zypper dup' from 11.2 RC1 yesterday on both my machines, i586 and
x86_64. This 1GB upgrade resulted in the newest kernel 2.6.31.5-01-desktop.
However, KDE4 My_Computer>Sysinfo:/ still says openSUSE 11.2 RC1.
And /etc/SuSE-release tells 11.2 only.
Isn't it possible to get confirmed what the exact version of the current
system is, Beta, RC as well as Final release?
And to mentione, the RC2 iso is already available here ;)

Hello all,
Unfortunately I couldn't participate on the meeting yesterday and I
was wondering if someone can share the log with me?

Hello,
I have openSUSE 11.2 RC1 and every time I launch OpenOffice.org Writer I get
following error for 60 (!) times:
An error has occurred in language tool
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class
de.danielnaber.languagetool.Language
Stacktrace:
de.danielnabar.languagetool.openoffice.Main.getLocales(Main.java:470)
I have language tools installed for English, French and Spanish language.
Anyone else has same error?
Best Regards,
Vojtěch Zeisek
I have a small issue running opensuse on my MacBook Pro. The single tap
does not work most of the time. If for example I single tap My Computer
in the desktop folder, it won't open. I have to then move the cursor for
it to open. This only happens when I single tap on the trackpad, not
single tap the actual hardware button at the bottom of the trackpad. It
happens about 75% of the time or more. It is not limited to the examples
I gave, but also on say , minimize, and restore from task bar, etc.
Double tap does work as it should.
I know this is a minor problem which is why I have waited so long to
report it. This was (is) not a problem on my 10.3 install, but has been
a present on 11.0 final, 11.1 final, and the 4 or so 11.2 Milestones
I've tested, including MS8. I have not downloaded RC1 yet.
All installs are under VMWare Fusion, lately version 2.0.6. 11.0 was
with KDE 3.5, all the rest with KDE 4 default install. V 10.3 was KDE 3.5.
