Hi folks,
I've tried a couple of x86_64 installation on my hp 8714w with Nvidia
3600M, both default KDE and also Gnome using the NET CD and a usual
installation procedure.
Up to now, this mobile workstation has run previous 11.x and sled 10/11
(certified) ok and some other distributions too. But this time with 11.3
I got a distorted and unreadable grahical display right after the first
boot from hard disk. I was able to use the safe mode login (once), but
as soon as I tried to change the resolution from the installation mode
1280x1024 to the correct 1920x1200 (yes, I know sax2 isn't supported
longer), the bad test display occurred. Therefore this error is critical
and prohibit me from real testing.
How should I address this issue further, throug the (confusing) Testopia
(guide lines welcome) or to the normal Bugzilla?
Rgds,
Terje J. Hanssen

I installed the new 11.2 kernel update yesterday (2.6.31.12-0.1-desktop) from
the updater applet. A went well until I shutdown the system. I'm using the
nvidia-drivers:
x11-video-nvidiaG02-190.53-9.1.x86_64
nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-desktop-190.53_2.6.31.5_0.1-8.1.x86_64
The system failed to shutdown. Not sure its related to Nvidia. Today when I
started up I got a black screen when trying to start runlevel 5. rebooted in
failsafe mode, uninstalled the Nvidia driver, then ran the install script. I
had to run nvidia-config before the Nvidia X server setup icon would work.
Original told me Nvidia not installed even though there was an xconfig file
there that contained nvidia.
I have attached the install log from today. Note there are some non-compatible
pointer types called out. But everything appears to be working. If you need
bug report or don't get attachment let me know.
I'll check the shutdown problem and see if still exists.
Hi,
I've started to test OpenOffice.org 3.2 Unstable (OOO320m21 Build
9319/3.2.0.2) on openSUSE 11.2/Gnome
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/OpenOffice.org:/UNSTABLE/openSUSE…
There is a bug because the OOo quickstarter has to be re-enabled for
each login session before qs appears in the Gnome panel systray.
(Re-enable here means first disable qs and finish the tools>option menu
with OK, and thereafter enable the qs checkbox again. Then qs appears
temporary in the systray during the current session.)
But where to report Bugs for Unstable, as Novell Bugzilla doesn't look
to have this option?

Terje J. Hanssen
