The next Testing Core Team IRC meeting will be Jan. 31, 2011 at 18:00 UTC. In our meeting, we will be discussing our experiences with 11.4 M6 and discussing bugs that we have encountered.. The QA tests of team member Bernhard Wiedemann are proving to be exceedingly valuable in preventing problems at release time, even though he only tests on the limited hardware of KVM virtual machines. These tests are improving daily. For example, the x86_64 DVD for M6 is too big to fit on a standard DVD. To prevent such an event in the future, Bernhard has added a check that will fail any future build that exceeds the limit. It is extremely important to test M6 so that as many bugs as possible are found and fixed before the GM comes out in March. Remember that your hardware may have problems not seen by other testers. Why not is LSB among default package selection?

Hi testers, I've just installed Google Chrome on to 11.4 machines and had to add the required 'lsb' first. Also other third party software may require lsb. Therefore I wonder; why isn't especially the 'Linux Standard Base' - lsb - installed among the default openSUSE package selection? This might make the openSUSE exeperience more convenient, not at least avoid some uneccessary confusing for new users. Rgds, Terje J. The next Testing Core Team IRC meeting has not been scheduled, but I expect it to Jan. 31, 2011 if M6 is released next week. A number of problems still need to be fixed before M6 can be released. Stephan Kulow lists them as: blocking issues (for M6): - /etc/mtab still is not right (broken by yast during installation bnc#665437) - Artwork is a bad mixture and this is the last milestone (bnc#665439) - kernel on i586 still acting up (bnc#660464) minor issues (for M6): - the progress bar of the live cd is not moving between 16-92% (bnc#665413) - the live cd does not boot into the kernel (kexec broken?) - the kde live cd runs slowly -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-testing+unsubscribe(a)opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-testing+help(a)opensuse.org

Factory 11.4 : from the last few days error in complete when logging on console

Am I the alone affected by that ? I've see from Tuesday ( perhaps before ), now a message after logging in console or doing a su -l in kde complete: usage: complete [-abcdefgjksuv] [-pr] [-DE] [-o option] [-A action] [-G globpat] [-W wordlist] [-F function] [-C command] [-X filterpat] [-P prefix] [-S suffix] [name ...] seem to come somewhere in bash_completion, but where ?
