Hello,
Just first post on this ML.
I am testing openSUSE 11.2 M2, as guest machine, on a VirtualBox 2.2.2
openSUSE 11.1 host.
My brief summary on M2:
* New Gnome stylish looks nice
* Filezilla still doesn't starts
* Xscreensaver starts, but then it is impossible to back to desktop

Dear all,
during the openSUSE community week, on Saturday 16th from 17.00 to 19.00
UTC (12.00 - 14.00 suseROCKs' time, which is also mine) I scheduled a
slot to discuss and organise the creation of the openSUSE community
testing team, following the proposal I sent around some time ago.
The discussion will be kept on Freenode IRC servers, in the
#opensuse-testing channel, where during the week Holger is doing a great
job giving talks to introduce users to testing.
After a short introduction on my proposal, the time will be used for an
open discussion on the testing team creation, with the main goal of
getting it started.
Everyone interested in the topic is welcome! I look forward to see you
on Saturday!
Best,
Alberto

That's something that can be discussed during the community week I
guess. In the meanwhile I would say "just use it in your regular routine
usage".

The request for volunteers was in the slides I sent around and in almost
all my emails about the idea of testing team. ;-)
Anyway, thanks for showing up :)

Do you want to lead the idea? If so, that would be great.
Best,
Alberto
You might not get all the volunteers that you'd hope to have a very successful group, but if you start it and pursue it I'd imagine that over time it will grow because you have created the infrastructure. Even if there are few, I'd still create a test plan. You might not be able to complete it, but at least there is a clear path to follow and anyone with a spare minute can jump in and complete a task or 2. I'll see if we can get access to testopia on bugzilla.novell.com. I think that could help with trying to build a community around testing.
What are everyone's thought?

Hi everybody,
I'm sure you already heared about the openSUSE CommunityWeek
(http://en.opensuse.org/CommunityWeek) from May 11 to 17. During that
week there will be a Testing/QA slot
(http://en.opensuse.org/CommunityWeek#Testing.2FQA) where I volunteered
to take over the responsibility.
Currently the following items are suggested:
* How to get started with testing
* From test case to bug report - what's necessary to know?
I would be glad to hear your idea and wishes. Furthermore this should
not be an "one man show". So I would be very happy for other members of
this list to take over items of this slot.
Looking forward to your input.
Best wishes,
Holgi
