Bernhard,
Something has come up and I will not be able to participate in the meeting tomorrow.
I have had little opportunity to test 12.3 M1 other than installing the Live CD
on a VirtualBoz VM. The setup is vanilla - 3 partitions (/ and /home with ext4)
and swap. I installed from the running Live CD, not from the boot menu.
The only configuration problem I faced is that grub2 chose a resolution of
640x480 for my screen. To overcome that, I changed the line in /etc/default/grub
that says
GRUB_GFXMODE=auto
to
GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768x32
GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=keep
I then wrote the updates to the configuration with
sudo /usr/sbin/grub2-mkconfig /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
Now I have the 1024x768 resolution that I wanted.
If you want to add any part of this into the transcript of the meeting, you have
my permission.
Larry

Hello,
I did not have a chance for testing recently. But today I tried to
install factory (using openSUSE-NET-x86_64-Build0166-Media.iso ) in
vmware to see how the new systemd affects syslog-ng (I'm from syslog-ng
upstream and one of the package maintainers). As usual, I tried to do an
install to an encrypted / partition, but it failed. How can I prepare a
useful bugreport and logs if installation hangs that early?
(installation without encrypted / seems to go fine until now...)
Bye,
CzP
