Hi all,
I don't really know where is the best place to post this message, my
apologies if I am wrong.
I installed opensuse on my laptop instead of ubuntu : very impressed,
far more polished and easy to use. Congrats !
I had nonetheless a problem : I couldn't compile Tagainijisho (maybe the
best Japanese free dictionary). The developer, though, was very diligent
and found out a solution.
------------------
Ok, I finally got the time to check on OpenSuse and found a fix. Please edit src/sqlite/CMakeLists.txt and add the following two lines at line 98 (just before the last "if (APPLE)"):
target_link_libraries(tagaini_sqlite pthread)
target_link_libraries(tagaini_sqlite dl)
Then recompile and everything should go fine. These two libraries are automatically linked on most systems, but not on OpenSuse.
------------
May I suggest to align opensuse library linking to those of other distros ? it would be to bad that other pieces of good software could not compile on opensuse because of a minor problem.
Best regards,
Alain

Hello testers,
12.2-GM is planned for 2012-08-30,
so as some changes have been incorporated after RC2,
I am now making available to you the current state
which can be considered an inofficial RC2.5.
http://www3.zq1.de/bernhard/mirror/opensuse/12.2/
contains i586 and x86_64 isos.
Thus I declare opened
the bug-hunt for Evil Bugs(tm)
that would prevent installing,
upgrading from 12.1
or getting updates after an install.
openQA found so far mostly smaller issues:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=776166https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=766498https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=767394
and two unfiled issues:
gnome: X11 running on tty1 (until reboot)
11.3zdup hangs in udev install (not supported anyway)
Ciao
Bernhard M.

Hi list,
The current bunch of upgrade from RC1 to RC2(?) causes a broken gdm
login menu and unuseable gnome desktop on my laptop (hp8710w with nVidia
3600M). The gdm disrupted display graphic looks like mosaic in black and
white and partly green. The mouse cursor is black and square and wan't
work to open menues. If I succeed to login, the gnome desktop is
unuseable and more or less frozen. Ctrl-Alt-F1 Console login happends to
work, but I also have had to just Power off hard freeze.
When I re-install from the RC1 DVD 12.2 works again, until I make any
new updates.
This happends on my laptop. On two other stationary workstations this
upgrades works, but 12.2 login has been terrible slow (several minutes)
also on one of hese two machine (Xorg looks to consume up to 100% CPU
power during the login process. When this process finally finish, the
gnome desktop is displayed).
Comments or simalar experiences before I enter a bug ?
Thanks,
Terje J. Hanssen
