sftp broken in konqueror

I installed Leap 15.5 today. I have several computers and communicate/transfer files between them using sftp in konqueror. I have submitted a bug report but I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and found a workaround or simple solution. My current workaround is to install the 15.4 files for konqueror and dolphin.

Cardreader keeps crashing

Hi, I have a SD card reader in my old ThinkPad T520. With curent TW I have an issue that the card reader crashes and reports a non- readable SD card, although the card is pretty OK See https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/2ec91bfec203 Is there any known issue with recent kernels? Hi there, i have leap 15.5 here and would like to install an rpm package created with nfpm. When i want to remove the package with zypper rm, i get the error message that this package does not exist. i have no problems of this kind with rpm -i or rpm -e. i can install or uninstall the package without any problems. 15.5, audacity and opening m4a files? ffmpeg? outdated?

Support, tried audactiy (2.2.2?) on 15.5, and first ffmpeg and then switched over to ffmpeg-4, but this 15.5 and audacity all from normal opensuse repos, complain about m4a files audio stuff, and it keeps telling me i need some ffmpeg library. any insight into this? ty

USB Ethernet Adapter?

Hi Folks, We have a need to connect a second physical Ethernet adapter to a laptop. USB to Ethernet adapters are cheap, but does openSUSE have the suitable kernel modules to make it work? We can't use WiFi in this case due to policy constraints. Thanks for any advice you can offer. Regards, Lew

Support, today I have noticed that the slowroll wiki page <https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Slowroll> had listed changed URLs for the repositories. My slowroll was stuck on october 2023. I then removed all the previous (experimental and what not) URLs and added all according to the wiki page. So far so good. journald only shows one object, boot entry?

Support, journalctl --list-boots only shows one entry. does 15.4 (that gotton upgraded to 15.5, zypper dup) not store journals for journalctl for multiple boots, or multiple days weeks months etc? /etc/systemd/journald.conf looks like a vanilla file all lines commented out after the comments except for one [Journal] thats all. this system has plenty of disk space. is this normal? did i miss anything? default 15.5 install or 15.4 never keep more than only the current boot and its logs? ty.

In Leap 15.5, Firefox refuses to run extensions.

I've installed Leap 15.5 on a Lenovo Thinkpad E15 Gen 4 with AMD CPU/GPU. In Firefox, I installed several extensions, notably privacy possum and KeepassXC-browser for tracking suppression and password safe access respectively. 15.5 imagewriter won't

In 15.4, imagewriter is how I burned my saved DVD isos to blank DVDs. In 15.5, installed afresh rather than an upgrade from 15.4, imagewriter says I can only write to USB. Anyone know why? Is there a secret dependency involved? What would be an alternative? Hi, In October, I had an idea about how to get the NVMe drive out of my SER5 mini-PC. Now I have changed my plan a bit. (no need to look back) I did not let Windows install. Instead, i bought a replacement NVMe drive and want to install Leap 15.5 on that. I have the 15.5 image on a USB stick now. What settings (if any) should I change in the UEFI bios, etc. to enable the installation or will the OpenSuse on the memory stick handle those details? recommendation for a simple home-server, files mostly, to be shared

Support list, thanks in advance for any recommendation on a thing maybe called home-server, trying to go for leap 15.5, or better with slowroll? Storing simple files on a opensuse samba server, on a LAN. Maybe would like to access these files in a safe and secure manner, and not too bloated or by highly complexly architectured ways, also from remote or while traveling or sharing select files with others. LAN has a single public ipv4 address albeit not a permanently same address, and has the … [View More]same for ipv6 mostly even ipv6 prefix global unicast, but also changing. I was looking into maybe a nextcloud, though i am not a huge expert and i try to like research too much before i even take the small first step, so sometimes i kind of am slow to start deploying actual stuff, maybe too scared or too worried and trying to fathom all the consequences and finding the best way even though with my little silly knowledge. Anyhow there are many things coming up such as a dynamic dns provider and hostname that then can be used for nextcloud, and then some front end proxy or reverse proxy or what that name would be, hence my looking into this traefik, even though mostly people write about nginx. Some places spoke about going for seafile instead of nextcloud. Maybe both? I also like the cryptpad project of the french open source folks and maybe even a matrixorg server, i know i know i have really no experience or knowledge in supporting or safely handling all of this. Maybe step by step. Anyhow, when I used to have linux machines on the net, so far I only exposed like the single mere ssh port of them and nothing else, and that was worrisome already for me. So I already have this question in my mind can I really securely and safely and elegantly maybe access these services via only a very select and narrowed down means? maybe not http/s but through the ssh only? i know about port-forwarding etc but I was wondering if the nextcloud clients (is there even such as a seafile client, i think so...) could talk only through that ssh port etc? maybe I am asking too many questions and need to try out some more to begin with and not only in theory and research but hands on. I would like to have and keep the data at my own premises and not use some arbitrary cloud provider etc. Of course I do know for example public services such as that cryptpad (french, OSS) a bit and heard about nextcloud and seen some instances of various companies or in select situations when people shared data with me. Never did it myself so far. So a nextcloud or seafile would be number one priority for me and the basis that are necessary for this to run on a simple broadband line.
