recently I have been getting "xrandr: cannot find mode 1920x1080" on every newly opened text window instance (xterm,konsole,...)
but: xrandr Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 4480 x 1080, maximum 16384 x 16384 DVI-I-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) DVI-I-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) DVI-I-2 connected 1920x1080+2560+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 598mm x 336mm 1920x1080 60.00*+ 59.94 50.00 1680x1050 59.95 1600x900 60.00 1440x900 59.89 1280x1024 75.02 60.02 1280x800 59.81 1280x720 60.00 59.94 50.00 1152x864 75.00 1024x768 75.03 70.07 60.00 800x600 75.00 72.19 60.32 56.25 720x576 50.00 720x480 59.94 640x480 75.00 72.81 59.94 HDMI-0 connected 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 797mm x 333mm 2560x1080 60.00 + 59.94 1920x1080 60.00* 59.94 50.00 1680x1050 59.95 1600x900 60.00 1440x900 59.89 1280x1024 75.02 60.02 1280x800 59.81 1280x720 60.00 59.94 50.00 1152x864 75.00 1024x768 75.03 70.07 60.00 800x600 75.00 72.19 60.32 56.25 720x576 50.00 720x480 59.94 640x480 75.00 72.81 59.94 DVI-I-3 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
I have two monitors, left: 34in Samsung uw 3440x1440 right: 28in Samsung hd 1920x1080
in .xinitrc I have: xrandr --output HDMI-0 --mode 2560x1080 --rate 60.00 --output DVI-I-2 --primary --mode 1920x1080 --rate 60.0 --right-of HDMI-0
DVI-I-2 for some reason changed to DVI-I-1 ??? but no longer get "xrandr: cannot find mode 1920x1080" after correcting DVI -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet oftc
