Hallo Liste, ich stelle gerade unsere Firma fast komplett von Windows auf Linux um und da stellt sich mir noch folgende Hürde: Bei dem Notebook (Toshiba 3000-100) zeigt die Batterieüberwachung im Panel (KLaptop unter KDE 2.2.2) immer den Netzstecker und den Zustand -1% wird geladen. Egal ob das Ding mit Akku läuft oder am Netz hängt. Als System läuft SuSE 7.3 mit Kernel 2.4.10. Habt Ihr irgendwelche Tipps oder Lösungen. Habe in der suse-laptop-Listen-Historie und in der sdb leider nichts passendes gefunden. Schon mal besten Dank. X-Server bricht ab

Hallo an alle, bitte freundlichst um eure Hilfe. Mein XFree86-System Version 4.1.0 startet nicht durch sondern bricht ab. Es erscheint nur der NVidia Splash, X-Server- Muster und dann ein knallroter Bildschirm mit Maus-Zeiger -> Abbruch. Mein System ist ein Notbook Dell Inspiron 8000 mit einem NVidia GForce2 Go Grafikchip der mit 32 MB bestückt ist. Es ist Suse 7.3 mit den passenden NVidia RPM´s Version 2313 installiert. Die NVidia-Treiber sollen zum arbeiten gebracht werden und nicht das Framebufferdevice !!! Die NVidia-Kernel/GLX-SRPM-Packete nach RPM zu kompilieren und diese dann zu installieren hilft auch nicht weiter, das Resultat aendert sich, auch dann, nicht. Für den Fall das mir jemand empfiehlt den gesamten Linux-Kernel zu kompilieren bitte ich bereits an dieser Stelle mir dazu die Zusammenhänge detailiert und transparent zu erläutern. Und warum ausgerechnet das die einzigste Lösung sein soll. sax2 ver. 4.3 war von Anfang an nicht in der Lage die Sache zu backen. Die "XF86Config" habe ich angepaßt damit sich das System weningstens nicht aufhaengt, was nach, oder mit, sax2 immer der Fall ist. Die zugehoerigen Dateien >> XF86Config << und >> XFree86-0-log << habe ich zur Fehler-Info angehaengt. Moin, ich habe im Haus ein Ethernet liegen, zentral sitzt ein Linux Server mit SuSE 6.3. Ich möchte nun gern ein neues Notebook Toshiba Satellite 3000-514 drahtlos im Haus betreiben. Notebook läuft mit SuSE 7.3. Meine Vorstellung: PCMCIA-Karte für Notebook, irgendwo im Netz der Sender. Welche Produkte spielen da problemlos mit und werden unterstützt? Wer hat welche Erfahrungen damit gemacht? Kaufempfehlung? Pointer auf hilfreiche URLs? Danke und Gruss, hajo.

Moin, SuSE 7.3, Bildschirmabschaltung funktioniert nicht. Habe bereits wie beim Desktop in /etc/XF86Config die Zeile Options "DMPS" eingebaut. Bringt leider nichts, ein xset dpms force off muesste ja jetzt den Schirm abschalten, tuts aber nicht. Ideen, wo ich suchen könnte? Gruss, hajo.

Hi Liste, Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, den Monitor Ausgang am Notebook seperat zu konfigurieren? evtl auch TV-out? Mein Problem: Gericom 1ST Supersonix 1000 MHZ, TV-OUT, Monitor-Ausgang. 1.Ich kann zwar einen Monitor anschliessen, leider hat dieser aber nur eine magere Frequenz von 60 Hz, das ist zum Arbeiten aber ungenügend. Am liebsten würde ich jetzt natürlich den Monitor neu Konfigureiern, aber leider klappt das nicht so, wie ich mir das vorstelle. 2. Würde ich für verschiedene Präsentationen den TV-Out gerne nutzen. Gibt es da überhaut eine Möglichkeit (evtl auch mit einem anderen Notebook oder Kommerziell?) oder bin auch da mit Linux schlecht bedient? CIAO Michael

Hi, zusammen ... ich arbeite mit dem Bootmanager von win2k ... und klar ... ich habe das boot.ini angepaßt ... zumindest bekomme ich das Win2K ja auch zum Starten und im abgesicherten Modus geht das Teil auch. Nur kann ich nicht meine normal angepaßte Hardwarekonfiguration unter win2k starten. Sobald ich das Profile für vmware unter win2k starte, bleibt das ganze kurz vor dem Wechsel auch die Login-Seite stehen. An diesem Punkt wird auch auf die höhere Auflösung geschalten und dann geht hier nichts mehr und das ganze bleibt mit einem internal monitor error hängen! Es hängt bei mir eindeutig mit der Auflösung des Display zusammen bzw. des verwendeten Treiber von vmware. Ich habe hier aber noch nicht die Ursache gefunden .... ich halte euch aber auf den laufenden wenn ihr wollt. Ich habe noch eine Supportanfrage an VMware am laufen und warte da noch auf eine Antwort! cu ...
