OK, did that but halts before it can finish the configure. Is there another way to access the logs? an alternative solution would be: ln -s /usr/include/et/com_err.h /usr/include/com_err.h that's how I got it to work on my own box. But I could not do that in the build service because I was getting permission denied errors. [opensuse-buildservice] Prefer vs Support vs Keep vs Substitute

What is the difference between Support and Keep? Like, let's say I have a package FOO that I'd like to always be installed in the build environment, *if* it is available. If it is not available, block all other builds until it *is* available, but do not block FOO itself. How do I do that? [opensuse-buildservice] loop module in qemu-kvm of build service

Kiwi image builds require loop devices in the qemu virtual Machine used by OBS server. But the kernel that qemu boots into doesn't seem to have "loop" built in. It is compiled as a module.=20 I tried to load the loop module in init_buildsystem (with modprobe loop) script which is run by the kernel during boot. =20 Since the modules.dep file is not available, this will not work. How else can I load "loop" module into the kernel in the VM for the kiwi builds to work? [opensuse-buildservice] osc wipebinaries doesn't actually wipe the binaries?

I issued (several times) an 'osc wipebinaries' command against a local OBS instance. The obs is version 2.0.5-3.3 on openSUSE 11.2 However, despite waiting a while, the binaries (.src.rpm and .rpm files) stayed where they were. They did not get wiped. No errors in the logs. [opensuse-buildservice] build-compare: it appears to ignore specfile metadata changes

I've been having trouble with build-compare. It *appears* to be ignoring changes to the specfile, when the changes are of the Conflicts or Provides nature (possibly others). The source files (other than the specfile) are not changing. Is this expected? I would like to see all package names in a given distribution. Listing e.g. $ osc ls Mandriva:2009.1 -r standard gives no output. Even so I expected there is some. $ osc ls Mandriva:2009.1 -r standard -b | grep lcms lists several lcms packages but not lcms-devel. However lcms-devel is exactly used in BuildRequirements of the mandriva section of my spec files. [opensuse-buildservice] expandpackages issue when using build tool locally

Hi, I tried to use build tool (build -repo=xxxxx xxx.src.rpm) locally and found a issue . The source rpm package can be built successfully on the OBS but fail with build tool locally (the config file is the as the OBS server). I checked the issue and found the generated rpmlist is different with the server. The local build tool missed some build dependencies. Has anyone met this issue and any diff between these two methods to get the rpmlist for initializing build environment? Thanks vivian

Dear All, I have been trying to build a version on Nautilus-Elementary for OpenSuse, starting fromt he Mandriva packages available here: http://suse-art.org/content/show.php/Nautilus-Elementary+Mandriva+RPM?conte… Basically, I took the normal spec file of the SuSe nautilus package and added the lementary patch from the Mdv rpm (with almost no modifications). The resulting rpm builds and works perfectly on my system. However, when I tried to build the packages with the build service I get this error: E: nautilus 64bit-portability-issue nautilus-mime-actions.c:1480 SysRq : Power Off Power down. Now, my programming skills re not bad, but not so advanced. Not having contrib makes obs unusable for building a lot of packages. And: as well as main, contrib does not contain any non-OSS packages, so I don't know, where you do find license problems. Hi there, on FrOSCon I was talking to some openSUse guys about the possibility to use the obs as build system for the German Mandriva community. Now "playing arround" a bit brought several items to my attention. On some places in the buildservice I found the Mandriva versions 2009.1 and 2010. Which 2010 release is this? 2010.0 or 2010.1? And why are there not both? The second thing I wonder is which branches of the Mandriva repos are included? All three? main, contrib and non-free? Or just main? Is there a way to include additional repos like plf? (Mandriva's equivalent of packman, I think, don't know that much about packman) And last but not least. After building a package Mandriva's "genhdlist2" should be run on the repo to create the files needed by Mandriva's package management. [opensuse-buildservice] new obs project - business - bugreport #634989

Dear all, I would like to add a new project where business relevant software could be collected. This is mainly finance management, tax related software and online banking etc. Unfortunately, there are not a lot applications out there covering this area so we need to make those available even easier to access. One more thing: This could also be just a collection of links to other projects, so we don't duplicate work if those packages exist already in obs but still get the benefit of just having to add this repo only to get the software + updates. Hi I hope anyone of the devs sees this here. Using seamonkey 1.1.19 to access the web interface for SUSE OBS. When in a project it displays the footer with the links and the sponsor to the right of the main content instead of below it. Firefox 3.5.11 shows the footer correctly below the contents. [opensuse-buildservice] For OBS Service setup with mutiple hosts

Hi, I am strongly confused recently! I firstly setup a OBS Server with API server, web, SRC server, mySQL, 18 workers etc. in a host (OS is Opensuse 11.3), I can completed a full build about 9 hours. Then I want to add more workers to increase the performance, I setup one more host, configure 18 workers (changed the configure file /etc/sysconfig/obs-workers) to make sure they can work for the same API(totally 36 workers now). But I can completed a full build about 15 hours now. The question is that why when I double the workers, I need more time to complete a full build? It makes me crazy. Hi, I need to override the projconf's "Release:" with 'CI_CNT' and 'B_CNT' with the "Release:" details from the spec file. But I noticed that it doesn't happens without CI_CNT and B_CNT in the "Release:" value in the spec file. That is if I just give "Release: myrel%(?dist)", the projconf's "Release:" overrides this. But if I include "Release: myrel.<CI_CNT>.<B_CNT>%{?dist}" in the spec file it happens but conditional. In some cases I get error for RHEL6 and SLES11 saying invalid "<" character. But on the rest of distros passes with nil values for CI_CNT and B_CNT. I need the correct behavior for this or how I can achieve it from the spec file without modifying the projconf file. My requirement is to have "-myrel.<valueof:CI_CNT>.<valuof:B_CNT>.sles.rpm" as suffix. Thanks, Manjunath A. Hi, I just recently started using branches in obs, and to my surprise when the parent branch (the source proj:pkg used in osc branch command) gets an update, that is immediately pushes to the branches. This branching is not like the others :-( - i.e. unlike any version control in which the origin->child merge is done on demand, not auto-initiated. The problem that I see with this is that developing on the branch becomes a bit like building on quicksand, since you never know when the ground is going to shift on you. I have a little build script which uses the same patchname ("current.patch") while I'm developing a mod but not yet ready to commit to a name for the patch, and this is causing the children branches to get broken whenever I update the origin (since at that time the update "current.patch" gets pushed to the children and causes all of the children to break due to a merge conflict in this "current.patch" file). Is there a way to change this behaviour so that a branch reflects the state of the origin when the branch was created, and doesn't auto-update? I do plan to change my script so that it uses a more random name for the patch, but I would still prefer to use the non-auto-push behaviour in case it's available. [opensuse-buildservice] Home Project vs. SubProject

Hi, I just started using the OBS to package Ostinato (http://code.google.com/p/ostinato) for several distros - this is a fantastic service! I'm however not sure if I should build packages in the "home" project or create a subproject and build packages within the subproject. From all I've read/seen till now they seem to be equivalent in all respects. Is there a recommended practice or convention? Also as I release new versions of Ostinato, I would like to retain the packages of older versions while releasing new versions - note I don't mean different RPM releases for the same program version but different program versions. How do I achieve this (creating a new subproject/package for every new program version seems wasteful). Thanks in Advance.
