[opensuse-buildservice] Mandriva versions
Hi there, on FrOSCon I was talking to some openSUse guys about the possibility to use the obs as build system for the German Mandriva community. Now "playing arround" a bit brought several items to my attention. On some places in the buildservice I found the Mandriva versions 2009.1 and 2010. Which 2010 release is this? 2010.0 or 2010.1? And why are there not both? The second thing I wonder is which branches of the Mandriva repos are included? All three? main, contrib and non-free? Or just main? Is there a way to include additional repos like plf? (Mandriva's equivalent of packman, I think, don't know that much about packman) And last but not least. After building a package Mandriva's "genhdlist2" should be run on the repo to create the files needed by Mandriva's package management. Thanks for your answers, Oliver -- Do not meddle in the affairs of packagers 'cause they are subtle and quick to anger! as packman for opensuse is running their own buildservice, the answer is no.
And last but not least. After building a package Mandriva's "genhdlist2" should be run on the repo to create the files needed by Mandriva's package management.
seems we need another repository type in the configuration. mandriva cant handle plain repomd repositories? darix -- openSUSE - SUSE Linux is my linux openSUSE is good for you www.opensuse.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Just main. So far no one asked for more and the others may need more legal investigation, if we are allowed to import them.

repos from outside of OBS ? This is not allowed on our build.o.o because it is intendended as open source hosting instance. (Also the DoD implementation is not complete)
And last but not least. After building a package Mandriva's "genhdlist2" should be run on the repo to create the files needed by Mandriva's package management.
okay, so we need a special repo type. Can you provide a package of this executable, which also builds for openSUSE/SLE-11 ? I will add the support for this then. thanks adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

As a matter of fact, some people asked for more: - http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-buildservice/2008-02/msg00214.html - http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-buildservice/2010-04/msg00241.html ...and I'm pretty sure there have been some more over the last two years. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

okay, I have briefly checked contrib and non-free and they contain stuff which is on our blacklist (due to license problems, patent problems and copyright issues). So, sorry, I don't see a way here. And I don't want to spend too much time on checking each single package. If there are some common needed packages it would maybe better to build them based on a common base. So they would also be available for SUSE, Fedora and friends. bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Btw, this would also help to build the apps for all the distros, because a common base would exist. Something like LSB-extended ;) bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Hmm, contrib and main are similar, the only difference is level of
support from Mandriva.

Hi, why Mandriva 2009.1 in x86_64 is missing the package bind-utils? Has anything changed in the base repository (it was building fine until recently)? Thanks, Antonio On 26 Aug 2010, at 17:20, Adrian Schröter wrote:

This happened by accident during recent server troubles and is already fixed: osc ls -b Mandriva:2009.1 -r standard -a x86_64 | grep bind-utils
Thanks, Antonio

Hi Oliver It was useful talking to you and Wolfgang this weekend. Another thing you should check is how well 'osc' from openSUSE:Tools works on Mandriva - we've discovered mispackagings of the toolchain on other distros before.
