Hi all, there was a new sub-package "gnome-keyring-pam" part of the gnome-keyring package in GNOME 2.20 this should replace the pam_keyring module. The module is intended to give you the ability to have your keyring unlocked on login (for NetworkManager, Evolution, etc passwords) We'd like to get some testing to try enabling it by default in openSUSE 11.0. Hello Team, In order for us to keep track of various tasks, it'd be nice to publish http://en.opensuse.org/GNOME/Tasks via iCal. When I started to research this, I came across an extremely cool application called "Remember The Milk" (http://www.rememberthemilk.com) With RTM, it is possible to; * Share the task list with other members of RTM * Publish tasks via ATOM Feeds * Publish tasks via iCal * Create new tasks via email All of the above is really nice, but doesn't do us any good unless we can get it to work with MediaWiki. I googled around a bit and didn't really find any nice plugins for MediaWiki that can pull/push via iCal. I found this one, http://www.k5n.us/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page, but have not been able to test it as I don't have a MediaWiki setup. If anyone is willing to help out, it'd be great! Note! This is only the things I came up with. If there are other easy ways to do this, please let us know. Greetings GNOME/openSUSE lovers, the GNOME team will be holding its next meeting this Thursday at noon EDT/18:00CST/1600 GMT). In following the lead of the project meeting, in future we will be altering meeting times to better allow for participation in Asia and Australia. The current proposal is to have the first meeting of each month moved. Folks, I just started to look at the AI's from the last meeting, and realized that I'm not 100% clear what we meant with "Theming". Theming is simply adding a specific Topic to be discussed in that meeting or Theming is a topic that runs throughout the meeting. Hello all, It's easy to get lost during a meeting unless you know what's being discussed in more detail. An easy way to rectify this would be to add URL's for each subject that will be discussed. Guys, I really think that the default for the gnome gtk package selector view should be "in patterns" because none of us jr. geeks knows how to choose all the dependencies for anything. starting with patterns as a default lets me go to "web and Lamp" and add perl support for instance. [opensuse-gnome] Please help test proposed yast2-gtk package selector bugfixes...

Okay everyone, this is round 2 of a quick sanity check of the yast2-gtk package selector. I know that there are a bunch of other problems with the package selector in general, but as a first cut, these are the problems addressed in this fix: 1. Items in the left (Available Software) and right (Installed Software) panes should be sorted alphabetically 2. Installed packages should _not_ be listed on the left unless there's a newer version 3. Packages should appear in the left column when selecting "plain list", "pattern", "language", etc. I need everyone's help at testing these above-mentioned fixes before I feel comfortable committing the code and releasing a newer version of yast2-gtk. Please try it out and make sure that we haven't regressed or broken something. If all goes well, I'll update the package for 10.3 and these things will at least be fixed and we can move on to bigger and even more important fixes. I've disabled pidgin-nonblock-common*.patch in GNOME:Community/pidgin for the time being because the first of these patches doesn't apply on 2.2.1 and the second depends on the first. [opensuse-gnome] Testing needed for updated yast2-gtk package (Package Selector Improvements)

Before I submit this to 10.3 or factory I'd like to get some feedback/testing for this package. The following fixes/enhancements have been added: 1. Speed improvements when performing a search in the package selector 2. The left-hand column (Available Software) should now be alphabetically sorted 3. The left-hand column (Availbale Software) should now only contain packages that are not installed or are upgradable 4. I have added the Mugshot package to my home project if anyone wants to check it out, or potentially add it to GNOME:Community, etc.. http://build.opensuse.org/package/show?project=home% 3Ajhaygood&package=mugshot The SPEC was based on Fedora's with modifications to use openSUSE packages instead of Fedora packages. It also includes a patch to build system to detect xulrunner-devel instead of firefox-devel. [opensuse-gnome] Inkscape depends on Skencil?

I tried to remove Skencil a while ago (openSUSE 10.3), and the package manager told me Inkscape depends on Skencil. Now, I don't know how Inkscape is built or packaged, but I've never seen it depend on Skencil before (at least not on distros I've used), so I am a bit confused. Why is this so? Or is the package manager simply wrong? I would like to suggest that Exaile be made the default player in GNOME version of openSUSE. http://www.exaile.org/ The player is quite stable, very uable, and it has many features similar to KDE's amaroK, which is, as you probably already know, the most popular OSS music player. There seems to be a package in the Factory that does not work with 10.3, but maybe it would be a good choice for future releases. And it would also be nice if it could be made available for us, 10.3 users as well. [opensuse-gnome] Suggestion about package management and GNOME apps menu

I have already posted this to the general mailing list (opensuse(a)opensuse.org) so my apologies to all that are reading both this list and the opensuse ml. Original post: I see that the applications list (Computer > Applications > More applications...) is "integrated", so to speak, with the package manager. The right-click menu gives me an option of removing an application. That is very nice. However, if I choose that option, it loads the full package manager, which in turn loads the full package list from the on-line repos. IMNSHO, I think that it is not necessary to load the on-line package lists if I only want to remove an application that is already installed on the local system. The info needed for removal should already be on my box. Or am I wrong?
