Hi,
an app crashed (OS 11.0) and automatically sent a crash report to
<http://crash.gnome.org/report/index/....?date=2008-12-30-01>
But I'm getting this error for days:
] Service Temporarily Unavailable
]
] The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to
] maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
] Apache/2.2.9 (Fedora) Server at crash.gnome.org Port 80
I'm wondering whether reporting those bugs upstrem is any use at all. Next
time I'll click [cancel] :-(
Or shouldn't you hack that reporter gadget so that it reports to Novell
instead?

Cheers,
Carlos E. R.

Hello,
GNOME:Factory:Next is where we build the latest version of GNOME for
both Factory and openSUSE 11.1.
Here are some quick instruction on how to setup your environment if you
want to help out with package updates;
I will assume that you already have osc installed. All instances of
$USER below should be replaced with your OBS login id. All instances of
$PACKAGE below should be replaced with the package you are/want to work
on.
1. Pull down the osc gnome plugins[1]
git clone http://www.vuntz.net/git/osc-plugins.git/
2. Copy the osc gnome plugin to your osc plugin directory
mkdir -p ~/.osc-plugins/ && cp osc-plugins/obs-dissector/osc-gnome.py
~/.osc-plugins/
3. Create a project in your home called "branches:GNOME:Factory:Next"
and add some repositories to build against;
osc meta prj -e home:$USER:branches:GNOME:Factory:Next
3.1 Make sure your repositories looks like this (also, that it's not
commented out with the <!-- and --> tags)
<repository name="openSUSE_11.1">
<path project="GNOME:Factory:Next" repository="openSUSE_11.1"/>
<path project="openSUSE:11.1" repository="standard"/>
<arch>x86_64</arch>
<arch>i586</arch>
</repository>
<repository name="openSUSE_Factory">
<path project="GNOME:Factory:Next" repository="openSUSE_Factory"/>
<path project="openSUSE:Factory" repository="standard"/>
<arch>x86_64</arch>
<arch>i586</arch>
</repository>
You should now be able to start updating packages in G:F:N.
The following command will list all packages in need of an update;
osc gnome t --xr --xs
To start updating a package from the list, use;
osc linkpac GNOME:Factory:Next $PACKAGE home:
$USER:branches:GNOME:Factory:Next && osc gnome up $PACKAGE
--project=GNOME:Factory:Next
Make changes as required, then commit to your branch (osc co). Once it
builds successfully, use the following to create a request for inclusion
in G:F:N;
osc submitreq create -m "Description of the changes you made"
--nodevelproject
Don't forget to explore other capabilities[2] of 'osc gnome' as well :-)
Happy updating!!
Cheers,
Magnus

Hello Friends,
i'm Sascha Manns from the Weekly News.
In the last issues we had the Section "New/Updated Applications" in the
Weekly News. We plan to have one KDE and one GNOME Program and one
other.
Me myself works in the KDE Ground and OBS. For GNOME i have an RSS-Feed
(Gnomefiles.org). But if the Feed info me for an new/updated Application,
this not means, that the OBS hosted this Version.
My wish is to find an GNOME-Programmer for OBS, who writes regularly for
the Weekly News Section.
Is it possible for you, to write regularly one Article per Issue about
an new GNOME-Program in OBS? You can see new Programs quicker than me
:-)

Greetings!
I'm a little late getting this message out, so lets hope you all haven't
slipped away for holiday festivities yet!
In the last GNOME Team meeting, we discussed having a bug triage event
on 09 JAN 2009 lasting the majority of the day. We're looking to close
up as many bugs in 11.0 as we can and move those that are tagged
'upstream' on their way.
We'll discuss the BugDay in our next meeting. Should we have the event,
I'll be using Gobby again to coordinate triage assignment.
Feel free to drop into #openSUSE-GNOME on Freenode, or reply to me
directly if you have any questions.
Thank you for your time! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Any plans to replace that to point to PackageKit's "Add/Remove Software"
as opposed to YaST? It would be more user friendly in my opinion. (And
they both use zypp in the backend anyway)

So, as people subscribed to opensuse-contrib, the work on Contrib has
started. If people want to start moving packages there, it's just a
simple build service submission to openSUSE:Factory:Contrib.
If for some packages, you'd like to have some collective maintainership
(which is not incompatible with some more individual maintainership,
btw), we can possibly create GNOME:Factory:Contrib which would be the
devel project for some packages.
