Aren't we pushing the GNOME 2.20.1 tarballs to OpenSUSE 10.3 update
channels? I haven't noticed any updates till now. Any reason we aren't
doing this?

I am experiencing a rather weired slowness with gnome-panel in 10.3.
Every program launched from a gnome-panel applet takes ages to start
up compared to running it from a desktop "shortcut" or terminal. About
10 seconds more to be more precise. I initially thought it's just
main-menu being slow, but it's not. I can also see it in other
applets.
Does anyone experience something similar?
P.S: I have opened a bug https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=335590

I have added 2 new packages in GNOME:Community:
* gnome-menu-file-browser-applet
Menu File Browser Applet is an applet for the GNOME Panel. It lets you
browse and open files in your computer directly from the panel,
without having to open a file manager. It is not intended as
replacement to proper file managers like nautilus. Sometimes you just
want to open a file and don't want to have to open a file manager,
browse to and open the file, then close the file manager. This Applet
just saves you couple of clicks.
* gtk2-engine-murrine
A Cairo based GTK+ theme engine.
Hope noone minds.

Hello,
Can we please keep the timestamps in our Meeting Transcripts? We agreed
to go back and review how long each topic takes after 3 (or so)
meetings, but it's not possible when we have no timestamps.
Thanks,
Magnus

Hi all, there was a new sub-package "gnome-keyring-pam" part of the
gnome-keyring package in GNOME 2.20 this should replace the pam_keyring
module. The module is intended to give you the ability to have your
keyring unlocked on login (for NetworkManager, Evolution, etc passwords)
We'd like to get some testing to try enabling it by default in openSUSE
11.0. So... if you're feeling adventurous install it from the 10.3 repo
and let us know or file bugs.

Hello Team,
In order for us to keep track of various tasks, it'd be nice to publish
http://en.opensuse.org/GNOME/Tasks via iCal.
When I started to research this, I came across an extremely cool
application called "Remember The Milk" (http://www.rememberthemilk.com)
With RTM, it is possible to;
* Share the task list with other members of RTM
* Publish tasks via ATOM Feeds
* Publish tasks via iCal
* Create new tasks via email
All of the above is really nice, but doesn't do us any good unless we
can get it to work with MediaWiki. I googled around a bit and didn't
really find any nice plugins for MediaWiki that can pull/push via iCal.
I found this one, http://www.k5n.us/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page, but
have not been able to test it as I don't have a MediaWiki setup.
If anyone is willing to help out, it'd be great!
Note! This is only the things I came up with. If there are other easy
ways to do this, please let us know.
Cheers,
Magnus

Greetings GNOME/openSUSE lovers, the GNOME team will be holding its next
meeting this Thursday at noon EDT/18:00CST/1600 GMT).
In following the lead of the project meeting, in future we will be
altering meeting times to better allow for participation in Asia and
Australia. The current proposal is to have the first meeting of each
month moved.
In general we follow the project meeting guidelines:
(http://en.opensuse.org/Meetings/About)
outlined for the openSUSE project, except we use #opensuse-gnome as the
IRC channel. Please add agenda items and questions to the meeting page.
The week we will be experimenting with grouping hardcore development
items at the end and having regular Q&A before that as well as setting
time limits for each discussion point.
Last meeting:

Next meeting:
