Once i upgraded to gnome 3.6 on openSuse 12.2, Rythmbox just closes(as
though it has crushed) when i double click to play a song. Banshee on
the other hand, it does nothing when i try to play a song.
I have also tried to open them via the terminal window and i realised
that they show lots of error messages. Here is what rythmbox displays
before it closes:

I can adjust screen brightness via xrandr -
awilliam@workstation:~> xrandr --output VGA-1 --brightness 0.4
awilliam@workstation:~> xrandr --output VGA-1 --brightness 0.9
awilliam@workstation:~> xrandr --output VGA-1 --brightness 1
But the screen brightness extension
<https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/231/brightness-control/> does
nothing. Either on my laptop or my workstation.
Anyone know anything about this extension or how it goes about adjusting
brightness?

Logging into openSUSE 12.2 x86_64 GNOME 3.6 can be a bit slow. The
hard-drive activity light is on solid for quite some time.
Is is possible to somehow profile login? To record that is happening
and some estimate of how long it takes?
Also, related, the .xsession-errors log file doesn't contain any
timestamps. That makes it difficult to go back and relate a message to
an event. Is there any way to enable timestamps in .xsession-error
messages?

Hi,
I run the latest 3.6 packages. Everytime I launch a GTK application I get a warning in the terminal:
(gvim:24821): Pango-WARNING **: /usr/lib/pango/1.6.0/modules/pango-basic-fc.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32
Should I report a bug ?
Thanks.

I have an issue with a recent Factory update where the lock screen
curtain comes down before I finish typing my password. If I can
somehow trick it into staying up, <Enter> after the password or
clicking the Unlock button give no response.
1. I've tried 'sudo zypper up' from Console 2, but it hangs with an
error attempting to install, then delete the filesystem package.
2, A systemd commandline unlock command, 'loginctl unlock-session 1',
works on Mageia but I get 'command not found' on openSUSE.
Suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

I noticed that. In the changelog for 3.6.0 it says that when they
removed gdmflexiserver they did it because the new user switch would
use libgdm. But there is no libgdm in the 3.6.0 gdm rpm....
Is user switching working for anyone on 3.6.0..?

openSUSE 12.2 x86_64 GNOME 3.6
gnome-terminal-3.6.0-95.2.x86_64
mutter-3.6.0-112.2.x86_64
gnome-shell-3.6.0-141.2.x86_64
If I open a gnome-terminal, open another tab, and resize the window - as
soon as I focus out it snaps back to its previous size.... this is
rather frustrating. Is it a bug or a feature? Is there any remediation
for that behavior?

Dear All,
I think I figured out why I cannot switch user in GNOME 3.6. The
gdmflexiserver binary seems to be absent from the gdm package. In my
other box which runs Archlinux, I see that this file is included in
the gdm package. Is there a reason for it not to be included in
OpenSUSE?
Thank you for your help
