[opensuse-buildservice] branching package from another project

Hi. I have a question about "branching package from another project" feature. I wonder how i should work out the following scenario: I branched a package "sonic-visualiser" [1] from "multimedia:apps" project [2] It builds successfully for Factory repository, but to build it for openSUSE_11.4 i had to branch newer versions of "raptor" and "redland" packages from project "X11:common:Factory" into my branch of "multimedia:apps" project (it become "home:rwman:branches:multimedia:apps"). So now can i submit these newer "raptor" and "redland" packages to "multimedia:apps" project? We released another 2.1 version, providing a security fix. The webui had a place where code injection worked. Means everybody can run code on your web server as "wwwrun" or "lighttpd" user. OBS 2.0.x and before is not affected. current OBS 2.3 candidate packages contains the fix as well. Please find the packages and appliances here: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tools:/2.1/ The openSUSE:Tools project is still on hold until 2.3 gets released. People how run a public reachable OBS instance have been informed before. If you want also get an early warning on such cases, please drop me a mail and tell which instance you maintain. [opensuse-buildservice] Installing on Mandriva via OBS repo

Hi All, I am trying to install my program on Mandriva but can't seem to add the OBS repository. It seems that the command urpmi.addmedia doesn't work with the normal RPM PM. Someone on IRC mentioned that I could specify a different type for the repository in my OBS raw config to automatically generate a urpmi compatible repo. What do I put as the type for my Mandriva repo to make it urpmi compatible? Hi, Regarding https://features.opensuse.org/312439 "spec files should support xz compressed sources per default" I'd like to have xz capable tar/xz packages per default available for old distros on OBS. (useforbuild only, not published). Who is the man who could do that? [opensuse-buildservice] frontend web server tuning question and maintenance scripts

Hi all, I have asked the following questions before on IRC but unfortunately there was not an immediate response and when I looked back into the channel later all relevant history had already been scrolled out of reach and I had no logging running (probably I should change my config in that regard). Thus a big sorry at this point in time in case those questions had already been answered. To the questions again: I did some experiments with the number of ruby processes per API server and WebUI server. I felt that the default of 5 might be too small for the machine I have running and moved both of them up to 20. What I found though was that performance got worse, not due too high load on the server but apparently lighttpd ran into more deadlock situations than before. :( Thus my question: Did other people running instances with a non-trivial number of users do some tuning on those parameters and what were your results. I'd be interested in learning about the values you have compared to the power of your hardware. Another unrelated question: On build.opensuse.org you sometimes use scripts to evaluate inactive projects and disable their builds or even removing repositories. Also when they refer to a discontinued distribution/repository. Are those scripts available somewhere? I'd like to do similar things on my instance and for sure I could just write my own scripts for that purpose but if yours are available there seems to be no need for me to reinvent the wheel. OK, did that but halts before it can finish the configure. Is there another way to access the logs? an alternative solution would be: ln -s /usr/include/et/com_err.h /usr/include/com_err.h that's how I got it to work on my own box. But I could not do that in the build service because I was getting permission denied errors.
