We want to change the trigger to use only the expanded content of sources. This means rebuilds will only happen when the effective source has changed. In practice we will use the "verifymd5" for comparing sources. This will trigger a rebuild of all linked sources. We will backport this 2.3. OBS 2.3 release state ===================== * Maintenance features still not used by openSUSE. AI: adrian move this forward * Evaluate if openSUSE 12.1 can be used as appliance base (main problem is systemd). ci.opensuse.org state ===================== obs-test(a)opensuse.org public ml is used for sending test suite results. Everybody should verify if the mails are sufficiant, Sascha will announce it together with news team soon. Ubuntu & Mandriva ================= * Ubuntu 11.10 is imported, but does not work yet in kvm/xen builds. needs debugging. * Mandriva genhdlist2 support added, but the submitted packages are not running on our server. [opensuse-buildservice] Process for migrating OBS to a new server

We have a local OBS instance (openSUSE 11.2) and we are running obs-server-2.1.10-1.1.i586 The plan is to move to a new server and migrate the OBS data to the new server. * Note that we are not using an appliance. The new server is running openSUSE 11.4 and we have installed obs-server-2.1.11-4.5.x86_64 on that server. What is the best way to migrate the data (OBS projects, etc.) across to the new server. We've looked for any relevant documentation, but could not find anything. This is what we did to prototype the migration: - rsync everything from oldserver:/srv/obs/* to newserver:/srv/obs - mysqldump on old server and then on the new server 'mysql < dump.db' - Bringup all OBS services on the new server. Not sure if we have missed any steps or if there is a better way about going about this. Could you please point us to any related documentation or describe the proper process for the scenario described above. [opensuse-buildservice] Problems compiling programs due to tar/libz.so.1 issues

Hi, I am trying to compile some items using a build target of ubuntu 10.04. However, I am running into some errors that prevent it from working. Specifically, booting XEN kernel ... .... ar: error while loading shared libraries: libz.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory tar: control.tar.gz: Cannot open: No such file or directory tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now tar: Child returned status 2 tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors tar: data.tar.gz: Cannot open: No such file or directory tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now tar: Child returned status 2 tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors (repeated a number of times) Can someone give me some insight to what is going on here. On the IRC channel it was mentioned that it could have something to do with the prjconf file. But nothing was explained beyond that... What hardware should I be looking too to try/test OBS lets say for a group of 20/30 persons, understanding that it might scale to a few hundreds. 2. Where can look for training for OBS platform? Hi, I would like from my home project to remove Tumbleweed as repo, but when I try I get the error, ailed to remove target 'openSUSE_Tumbleweed' Unable to delete repository; following repositories depend on this project: SomeOtherHomeRepos How can I delete Tumbleweed? berlios has announced that their open source hosting system in closing at the end of the year. They have advised all of the hosted projects to move to another hosting system. http://developer.berlios.de/forum/forum.php?forum_id=37450 They recommended projects look at the list of hosting services at wikipedia to choose another hosting service. https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Comparison_of_open_source_so… That list doesn't make opensuse buildservice look like it is available for use. I thought is was open to any open source project. At the very least it should be available to anybody that builds for opensuse. If OBS is a good choice perhaps someone from the project can reach out to berlios and/or update the wikipedia page to make it look more attractive. Hi everyone, It seems that the last version of OBS Light (1.0.3) is quite easy to setup ... I've have successfully built some personal package and there are published into a public project. When I want to use MIC to create a bootable image using these packages, it seems thats there is something missing in the published repository ... While MIC connecting to my OBS repository, it is searching for repodata/repomd.xml file But in my repository I only have <ProjectName>.repo beside the arm7hl, intel, and src directory .... What's wrong ? OBS light is not compatible with MIC ? A remaining misconfiguration somewhere ? Should I use another image creator ?
