Hi,
is there a way to build a package local without having to checkin the sources into the OBS-server?
Regards .....Volker Hi For a single package, just create a package via osc, then co, dump the files in the package directory and build. The rpms will be in your local build root.

I guess you are looking for: --local-package build a package which does not exist on the server option? you can use "osc build --alternative-project ... " but there is currently a bug in osc that the package must be locally added to any project. But it is not required to checkin (upload to the server).

--local-package was indeed the option is was looking for. I was able to do a local build with osc build --local-package --root=/tmp/mybuildroot --alternative-project=openSUSE:11.4 x86_64 So far so good. Next step is to setup and use a local obs server.
