I wonder how do I request software for openSUSE or (in the future) even
contribute myself) ;)

Hi,
I tried to set the URL for my project and after committing the entry I
am getting the error message:

Message: XML validation failed
Details: validation failed, output:
/tmp/opensuse_frontend_validator.20342.0:10: element build: Schemas

That error appeared already yesterday.

Hi,
as announced yesterday, the OBS is going down for maintenance now.
We do a final rsync and be back as soon as possible with more space and
SPEED :)
But expect a few hours downtime now.
bye

For such cases are video files very suitable. Is there any good place
where to place them on wiki pages for public?
They are available just now internally in Suse at
http://users.suse.cz/~lmichnovic/BuildService/Video/ .
Regards Ladislav.
Hi,
As many of you noticed, the service is quite slow atm. This is caused by a
nearly full filesystem mostly.
We will do a final sync and a move tomorrow, so the service will go offline
at
Friday, 12th Octobre, 12:00 UTC
We expect a downtime of 2-4 hours (the final sync need to run, before we can
enable the service again).
Please do not plan any build service presentations than ;)
thanks
adrian

Hi,
can somebody explain me why the BS ignores the
BuildRequires: libelf-devel
in "makedumpfile" (Kernel:kdump) for 10.2/x86_64?
Thanks,
Bernhard

I think it would be more user friendly to have less sub-repositories.
Take for example the games repository, it would more user friendly if
you only have to add a games repository. Now you have to add repo's for
each game genre (arcade, action etc). I really think this process is to
cumbersome. What do you think? Is the possible? And preferable?

I noticed that dependencies are missing for a lot of games in the
openSUSE BuildService -Games (action) is missing. For example
flightgear, nexuiz and openarena. How can we fix this?

Discussion topics:
* project creation tracking
Status reports
==============
mls:
* project deletion implementation in backend finished
* broken log file reading got fixed.
* noarch packages can get replaced in repositories without
increasing the release number. This can break repositories
when using the download redirector. A fix is half implemented,
final fix needs to be done.
adrian:
* new packages of build service WIP
* backend server SAN move should happen this week, we are still filled
for 96% atm what reduces speed of the filesystem.
* Requested protocol change from http to https for build.o.o to increase
security
freitag:
* Work on notification handling system proposal
rlihm:
* back from vacation, started work on new mockups
* Created a "I support guiding principles" banner
* Will work on first theme update to new opensuse theme for build.o.o
abauer:
* Project deletion implemented in api and web interface and deployed.
* Fix validation of meta data handling
(after adrian broke it a few month ago)
* Flag handling got bugfixes and should work now.
jcbornschlegel:
* Back from vacation :)
* Work on kiwi tutorial for build service, accessable in opensuse svn.
Project creation tracking
=========================
We lost multiple request to create new projects on the mailing list.
We will track new project creation via bugzilla in future to handle this in
a valid way.
We need to
* create a bugzilla component (AI: adrian)
* define a URL to open a new request in bugzilla (AI: freitag)
* add the link visible in the web interface (AI: abauer)

Hello,
I get following failure for factory:
http://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log?project=Application%3AGeo&…
The same builds fine for 10.2 and 10.3.
What's wrong with it?
Ciao
