TW : since 3 or 4 weeks , LibreOffice Calc : - the Alt. key is not doing its stuff - Alt-fq doesn't close : - Alt. fu doesn't show recently opened files .... vers.: libreoffice-calc-6.0.4.2-2.1.x86_64 ........ [opensuse-support] X takes too much CPU when the screen of xfreerdp is heavily updated

Hi there, I used xfreerdp to connect to a Windows 7 desktop to do some work. When the screen from that desktop has something to keep updating, such as the busily refreshed highlighting of elements in a 3D model, the X process in my openSUSE desktop takes full CPU time of a core. The options I used for `xfreerdp` are like these, ``` /rfx /jpeg-quality:60 /codec-cache:rfx /audio-mode:2 -wallpaper +clipboard +compression /size:1366x1024 /bpp:16 ``` And I am using KDE on Tumbleweed and all related packages are from OSS. Hi, I'm pretty familiar with openSUSE and I can solve many issues when I install new versions. What I will never understand is font configuration though. Neither I do fully understand how to configure it nor the default seems sane. I've been using Leap 42.x now for its lifetime and upgraded to Leap 15.0 today just to see that some applications have very strange and ugly fonts (imagine fonts like from my the early days of PCs). Especially this was about monospace this time and I was able to change the configuration via YaST2's new module (btw, where does it apply the configuration? I couldn't find it in /etc/fonts.) But first I had to look up on my old installation (thank god it's still around in another partition) which font I've used for the past years. Therefore I was able to apply the same. Still my feedback somehow is: openSUSE's default font selection is inconsistent and strange/suboptimal in every other version or I do something wrong in a subtle way. Anyone has a useful pointer how to get nice fonts within openSUSE Leap 15.0? Hello List , My Desktop Environment is XFCE running on openSuse TumbleWeed i have installed : kgpg kgpg-18.04.1-1.1.x86_64 kgpg-lang-18.04.1-1.1.noarch ...... Decryption : upon entering password , error message appears saying "Decryption failed" , but , there is a tiny box for "Details" : upon opening details , full-page , there appears entire file in Decrypted form in PLAIN TEXT ! This is alarming and dangerous . ....... This morning i have uninstalled kgpg-18.04.1-1.1.x86_64 & re-installed the previous kgpg-17.12.3-1.1.x86_64.rpm Unhappily the error persists : Decryption : upon entering password , error message appears saying "Decryption failed" , but , there is a tiny box for "Details" : upon opening details , full-page , there appears entire text file in Decrypted Plain Text ........ - What might be the trouble , please ? [opensuse-support] creating qemu VM with --boot uefi fails due to missing AppArmor profile

Hello list, I have a problem creating virtual machines with UEFI boot mode. It seems that the required AppArmor profile is not created. % virt-install --connect qemu:///system --boot uefi --name ovmf --memory 1024 --disk size=10 WARNING No operating system detected, VM performance may suffer. Specify an OS with --os-variant for optimal results. Starting install... Allocating 'ovmf-1.qcow2' | 10 GB 00:00:00 ERROR internal error: cannot load AppArmor profile 'libvirt-071236ef-5b3d-457e-962b-bfedda1bbba5' ... Looking for the profile yields no result: % find /etc/apparmor.d/libvirt/ -name libvirt-071236ef-5b3d-457e-962b-bfedda1bbba5 Though when I create a non-UEFI VM, it works as expected. % virt-install --connect qemu:///system --boot hd --name ovmf --memory 1024 --disk size=10 % virsh --connect qemu:///system dominfo ovmf | grep label Security label: libvirt-76ae48ba-fa95-4695-8bfc-f461d1cab1c0 (enforcing) % find /etc/apparmor.d/libvirt/ -name 76ae48ba-fa95-4695-8bfc-f461d1cab1c0 /etc/apparmor.d/libvirt/libvirt-76ae48ba-fa95-4695-8bfc-f461d1cab1c0 Is there something I'm missing or should I file a bug? [opensuse-support] Mailinglist changes going forward

Hello everyone, Firstly I am cross posting this across a number of mailinglists because this post affects several, but I would ask that you keep your replies / feedback on the openSUSE project list as not to fragment discussion. It has been raised with the board by several members of the community that some of our mailinglists have not been working as effectively as we would like. As such and as raised in our annual discussion with the community during the conference, the board has decided to take a couple of steps that we hope will resolve these issues or that will at least be a starting point in resolving these issues. Firstly we have created a new opensuse-support(a)o.o mailing list, we as the board felt that in the transition from factory -> tumbleweed in particular the change in role for opensuse(a)o.o did not work well and in many cases there was an attitude that factory/tumbleweed issues should still be posted on the factory mailing list. As such we have created the support mailing list to help clarify these changes in policy that we don't believe worked when we tried to change them last time. In short we would like you to use opensuse-support(a)o.o whenever you require support whether it is for Tumbleweed, Leap (regardless of whether you are using a Leap beta or not) or any other project under the openSUSE umbrella. This brings us to the next issue, posting bugs / bug reports on mailing lists rather then bugzilla. This is a practice we would like to see stopped and we will be gently reminding people if they continue posting bugs on mailinglists, this especially includes if a package / application breaks when updating tumbleweed / leap (including beta's). We would ask that you search for your issue prior to reporting but in case you accidentally report a duplicate bug its easy for us to mark it as such, also if you report something that is intentional and not a bug it doesn't take long to mark it as such, so if in doubt file a bug rather then posting to a mailing list, there is useful information for filing bugs at the following links [1][2]. But if you are really stuck with trying to file your bug the friendly people at opensuse-support(a)o.o can support you through the process. The board hopes that with the changes outlined above the contents of the opensuse-factory(a)o.o will go back to just being general distro development discussion so if your post to openSUSE factory is something other then that think twice about where the more appropriate place to post is. The new tumbleweed snapshots will continue to be posted to factory but we would ask you do not reply to them in order to report issues / bugs. If a bug is reported that a package maintainer believes will cause significant issues for most tumbleweed users ie not being able to boot / login or severe data loss we still invite the maintainer to post a warning to opensuse-factory but such issues happen very rarely and as such we don't expect to see many such posts. The board has decided that it would like to see how well these changes work before deciding to add / remove / change openSUSE's mailing lists further. [opensuse-support] kmail shows a strange header above the normal header

The strange header consists of two lines. In the sample I have cut the part not shown on the screen with { and } The normal header and the head of the message are shomn as I see them. The extra header with a kind of unreadable information at least for me, does not show up on every email but seems to show on emails from USA sources.
