[TW] boot can't find / on mdraid1

sda3 and nvme0n1p3 both contain exactly the same kernel and initrd. Adding to cmdline modules_load=md_mod,raid1 get them loaded, by doesn't cause any apparent improvement. Why aren't the md3 & md7 device names from /etc/mdadm.conf found in /dev/? What am I not seeing or doing that needs doing for boot from sda3 to find the md3 / filesystem? On the disk pair containing all RAID devices, 15.4's /boot/ directory on / contains all customary files, and boots normally from Grub1 on sda3. The primary difference is TW has an empty /boot/ on the / filesystem due to the presence of sda3 which gets mounted there and contains the boot files. Support, there is some new firmware update for some samsung ssd (nvme ssm pcie based) that is built into this system i use. I dont have windows to upgrade that nvme samsung device and i can not really move this device over to a windows machine and attempt the firmware update there. i found some older discussions and even runthroughs about this matter, as apparently samsung does offer linux based iso images that apply the firmware for people outside the windows world. but they dont use these fancy fwupd or those tools and apis, but their own specialties and proprietary way to talk to the device. but all from a linux bootable iso. but apparently that linux is dated and old and has all sorts of problems from needing an intel based storage controllers for sata for example and ps2 keyboard layers only and all weird stuff. > <https://blog.quindorian.org/2021/05/firmware-update-samsung-ssd-in-linux.ht…> and similar links and discussions what runlevel or special way to boot the system would be best to be able to run these linux console tools and to not block the nvme device at all after some simple basic bootup of opensuse 15.4? maybe some safe mode or fallback in the opensuse grub2 menu? the original iso on an usb key cant be booted on this dang machine it can disable secureboot but the samsung linux will never show any screen output and never goes anywhere beyond a black screen. this machine also apparently can only uefi, but no csm or bios way to boot. additionally I also read about nvme-cl tool and even found some github project on collecting or sharing samsung firmware in .bin files but I wonder where they get those from as I never found any inside iso or the initrds etc. > <https://github.com/lolyinseo/samsung-nvme-firmware/tree/main/980%20PRO/Sams…> > <https://github.com/lolyinseo/samsung-nvme-firmware> ty.
