The machine asks for my screensaver password. I enter, and view a popup that is asking for my root password to hibernate, while the power bar says 4%. hello, I'm still in the way of restoring a 42.3 system (see thread catastrofic update), but now the system boots 42.3. Not in graphic mode, nor with networks, but it boots. [opensuse-support] Google Titan Security key bundle.

I am looking to use Google's Titan security keys with Chrome / Gmail. Is there any additional package I need to install to get this working with openSUSE Tumbleweed? [opensuse-support] screen resolution changes after switching off and on second monitor

Hi *, I am using Tumbleweed with latest snapshots on a DELL XPS 13. Besides the internal screen an external monitor is connected via Thunderbolt dock / mini display port. I modified /usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsetup and switched off the internal monitor via xrandr, whenever an external monitor is connected. Otherwise the internal screen stays primary. When switching off the external monitor, the internal monitor stays off, which is perfectly ok. Switching on the external monitor again, leads to my actual problem, though: The internal monitor gets switched on for a second, then gets switched off again, and the external monitor shows the desktop. For the second the internal monitor is on, screen resolution changes forth to the resolution of the internal monitor and back to the resolution of the external monitor. This leads to a completely distorted desktop regarding my own windows. Plasma itself obviously can cope with the fast change in resolution. Switching off kscreen2 stops that switching, but I loose a few other features. Is there any setting to tell kscreen2 not to activate the internal screen in this case, but instead directly use the external one? I hope this description was not too confusing ;) TIA. Bye. [opensuse-support] Cloud-init and Kubic

Hi, I'm trying to configure Kubic with the help of cloud-init. I'm using openSUSE-Tumbleweed-Kubic.x86_64-15.0-MicroOS-cri-o-hardware-x86_64-Build4.5.qcow2 as my basic image, then figured out how to create the /cloud-init-config directory, along with included meta-data and user-data files. But after the initial pxeboot, Kubic is restarting as expected, but no cloud-init action is actually performed. What am I missing ? Is there anything specific I need to tell Kubic in order for it to take cloud-init local files into account? [opensuse-support] How to troubleshoot my laptops strange wifi problem

Hi, because my HP pavilion type 15-bs@xx already needed a newer than Leap 15.0's kernel and an RTL8723DE wifi that will only be available in the 5 series kernel I decided to upgrade to Tumbleweed. I have a huawei E5573Cs-609 4G modem with the SSID hidden, because it seems that wifi hacking tools are readily available. This supplies a Tplink TL-WA850RE range extender with an ether net cable to my main pc and an advertised SSID which supplies my laptop, a raspberry pi and several cell phones with internet. It's never been hacked for some strange reason. After I upgraded to Tumbleweed my wifi carried on functioning but after my last two zypper dup's the laptop will no longer lock onto the TL-WA850RE's signal. I've tried both wicked and network manager, I have an nfs server running on the laptop so I normally use wicked. Windows 10 has no problem with the tplink but openSUSE Tumbleweed will only lock on to the hidden SSID from the E5573C iw dev wlo1 scan picks up the TL-WA850RE with a healthy -28.00 dBm along with various neighbors's routers, the hidden E5573Cs which lives at the other end of the house only gives -64.00 dBm. systemctl status network outputs for both devices: https://paste.opensuse.org/83073878 wlo1 never gets past setup-in-progress. [opensuse-support] Can not change laptop screen brightness via its keys
