WLan und Festnetz-Lan Verschiedenheiten

Hallo, ich habe einen Laptop :) und 2 PCMCIA-Karten, eine für WLan und eine für Festnetz. Unter SuSE-8.2 habe ich beide mit dem yast2 eingerichtet, ohne daß ich Config-Unterschiede sehen würde. Beide funktionieren. Mit beiden bekomme ich per DHCP Zugang zu unserem Netz. Nur... bei der WLan-Karte muß ich noch per Hand die Default-Route setzen, die "eigentlich" per DHCP geschickt werden sollte, was bei der Festnetz-Karte auch klappt. Was kann ich besser machen? Wo kann ich nachschauen, welche Optionen *wirklich* gesetzt sind? (Wo ist das Configfile vom yast2?) Viele Grüße, Bernt Christandl

Inspiron 8200, Probleme mit CDRW-Combo unter Linux

Hallo allerseits, seit einigen Wochen spinnt mein CD-Combolaufwerk unter Linux ein wenig. Es lässt sich nicht mehr einwandfrei mti der Taste öffnen, sondern klickt diverse Male vor sich hin, bleibt aber geschlossen. Öffne ich es mit dem Notöffner (Büroklammer), geht es danach wieder einige Male und fängt von vorne an. Ich musste gestern testhalber XP installieren und habe diesen Effekt unter XP nicht beobachtet. Ansonsten läuft das Laufwerk problemlos. Hat jemand eine Idee, woher dieser Effekt bei Linux kommen mag? Eine REparatur hilft nichts, weil DELL nichts feststellen konnte. I'd suggest to switch the existing list into an english one. Most of the readers are able to read and write in english. Most of the problems are the same, regardless if they occure in Italy, Spain or Germany. Running two lists dealing with the same topic will increase the effort to search in the archives. Some problems will be solved in the german list, other ones in the english list and probably nobody will do a consolidation. Even now it takes to long til a solution found in this list will be integrated into the SDB (but this is only my impression). There is already an english speaking mailing list on tuxmobil.org. Just my 2 cents Wolfgang

Ich habe PCMCIA_SYSTEM auf "kernel" gesetzt und per default wird doch eigentlich auch die Kernel-Version verwendet. Ansonsten: ich benutzte einen HP Pavilion ze4288, AMD Athlon Mobile. Auf meinem Compaq (Intel) wird die Karte korrekt erkannt und kann sofort konfiguriert und benutzt werden (Kernel-System). Kann mir hier irgendjemand weiterhelfen? Ich bin für alles was hilft dankbar! ACPI-Konfig. bei Aldi Notebook MD 9688

Hallo zusammen, nach mehreren Anläufen funktioniert ACPI auf meinem Notebook nun ansatzweise. Das Notebook (CPU: Athlon 4, 1200MHz, SiS-Chipsatz) unterstützt nur ACPI, nicht aber APM. Installation: SuSE 8.0 (Kernelversion: k_deflt-2.4.18-58, acpid-1.0.1-27, kein apmd) Konfiguration: Bootparameter in lilo.conf: append = "apm=off" Änderung in /etc/sysconfig/powermanagment: ACPI_MODULES_NOT_TO_LOAD="ospm_ec" Der acpid läuft in den Runleveln: 2, 3 und 5 Zwei zusätzliche Dateien im Ordner /etc/acpi/events namens power und lid angelegt: power: event=button power.* action=poweroff und lid: event=button lid.* action=poweroff Beim Booten werden die ACPI-Module ospm_ac_adapter ospm_thermal ospm_busmgr ospm_button ospm_system ospm_processor ospm_battery geaden und die Meldungen <4>Power Resource: found <6>ACPI: AC Adapter found <4>ACPI: Thermal Zone found <6>ACPI: Power Button (FF) found <4>ACPI: Multiple power buttons detected, ignoring fixed-feature <6>ACPI: Power Button (CM) found <6>ACPI: Sleep Button (CM) found <6>ACPI: Lid Switch (CM) found <4>ACPI: System firmware supports S0 S1 S3 S4 S5 <4>Processor[0]: C0 C1 C2 <4>ACPI: Battery socket found, battery present ausgegeben. Der Rechner fährt auch nach dem Betätigen des Powerknopfes oder nach dem Schließen des Deckels runter und schaltet sich selbstätig aus. Außerdem kann man in der KDE 3.0.0-Statusleiste das Batteriesymbol einschalten und den Ladezustand sehen. Ich habe allerdings noch nicht gefunden, wie man andere Ergeignise z.B. thermal auswertet, oder wie man das Gerät bei 10% Batterieladung ausschaltet bzw. in den Suspend-Modus versetzt. Weiß jemand, wie das geht? Gruß Walter
