Das erste Problem ist gelöst, ich hatte im Kernel tatsächlich native language support 437 ausgeschaltet. Naja, vielleicht aus Lokalpatriotismus ;-) 2. Sound Ich habe also alsa komplett aus der modules.conf verbannt und arbeite mit dem kernel- modul maestro3 (experimental). Trotzdem versucht irgendeiner char-major-116 zu laden. Wo könnte das stehen? Ich kann jetzt auch meine mp3 über xmms hören, aber dann gehen die Systemsounds nicht mehr. Der Mixer zeigt mir 2 leere Sektionen an: "Ungültiger Mixer ESS Maestro3", "Ungültiger Mixer mixer00" und dann die funktionierende "SigmaTel STAC9721/23". Wo kann man die falschen Einträge entfernen ? Anscheinend klappt das mit dem maestro3- Treiber doch noch nicht so doll. Hallo, ich habe SuSE 7.1 auf meinem Panasonic CF-35 mit Neomagic Chipsatz. Der interne Monitor hat eine Auflösung von 800x600. Wenn ich zu Hause arbeite, möchte ich meinen Monitor an der Dockingstation nutzen. Wie kann ich einstellen, daß bei externem Monitor eine Auflösung von 1024x768 benutzt wird? Hallo ! Ich habe ein Problem mit der Installation von Suse 7.2 Personal auf dem Notebook Toshiba Satelite 2800/500. So wie immer ist das Problem der X-Server, den der Onboard-Chip ist ein nVidia GeForce2. Das System läuft also bis auf den X-Server und nun suche ich die Möglichkeit X zum laufen zu bekommen. Nach Suche im Internet fand ich aber keine Infos zu diesem Problem, SSDB geht auch nicht weiter darauf ein. Wer kann mir da helfen ? Hallo Leute, ich wende mich gleich mit einer ganzen Latte von Problemen an Euch und hoffe, daß Ihr mir helfen könnt und wollt. Die Inhalte der log- Dateien boot.msg, messages und warn habe ich hinten angehängt. Bisher lief auf meinem Dell Inspiron SuSE 7.1 mit Kernel 2.4.0. PCMCIA ------------- Da hatte ich das Problem, daß PCMCIA nicht lief. Das ließ sich aber teilweise beheben indem ich dem Tip folgte und in der Datei/etc/pcmcia/config.opt folgende Änderungen vornahm: include port 0x100-0x4ff, port 0x800-0x8ff, port 0xc00-0xcff durch include port 0x100-0x4ff, port 0xc00-0xcff ersetzt Der CardManager läuft jetzt aber es gibt immernoch Probleme mit dem Laden von Modulen und meine PCMCIA ISDN-Karte HST- Saphir läuft nicht. Die entsprechenden Meldungen -- siehe boot.msg. Nun will ich aber Fire Wire benutzen und habe mir einen Kern 2.4.5 gebaut. Der läuft nun auch aber die obigen Probleme existieren immernoch. Hinzugekommen sind folgende Probleme. AUTOMOUNT -------------------- Beim Versuch, meine Win- Partitionen zu mounten findet er ein paar Module nicht mehr modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module nls_cp437 keine Ahnung, was das für Module sind. Die Partitionen sind dann zwar gemountet aber als normaler user kann ich trotz unmask in der fstab nicht darauf schreiben. SOUNDKARTE ---------------------- Ich habe im Kernel die maestro 3 als Modul angegeben. Alsa habe ich neu gebaut und installiert. Dann habe ich mit Yast2 die Soundkarte eingerichtet und es funktionierte------ bis zum nächsten Systemstart. Dann traten die Fehlermeldungen auf. Ich deute das so, er hat wahrscheinlich das Device nicht dauerhaft generiert. Der Versuch, die Soundkarte mit alsaconf zu konfigurieren scheiterte von Anfang an. Das Tool findet keinerlei Soundkarten und beendet sich. PCI ------- Außerdem meckert Linux, weil die IRQ's mehrfach belegt sind, ich habe aber noch keine Möglichkeit gefunden, die Sache manuell im Bios einzustellen. ACPI --------- Das Powermanagement funktioniert auch nicht mehr. Angeblich ist es nicht installiert. Bitte helft mir !!! Hallo pansen, als erstes mal zu deinem nls_cp437 problem: das ist ein problem hinsichtlich den codepages (nls-> native language support) du musst die entsprechende codepage nackompilieren. du findest sie unter dem menue file-systems-native language support dein problem mit dem sound modul ist folgendes: alsa bringt seine eigenen module mit. du musst also, wenn du versuchst die alsa-module zu verwenden, keine kernel-module vorher kompilieren. wenn du jedoch weisst, dass die kernelmodule funktionieren, dann kannst du diese verwenden und per modprobe laden. bei deinem pci kann ich nur erstmal nachfragen, was "lspci -v" ausgibt. danach koennen wir uns versuchen darum zu kuemmern MfG. Booten und SHutdown sind nur spezielle Runlevel-Wechsel. Und zum promiscuous Modus findet man etwas in "man ifconfig": [-]promisc Ein-/Ausschalten des promiscuous Modus der Schnittstelle. FTP-Installation, Kernel Panic, reiserfs?

Ich habe gerade zum 3. Mal versucht SuSE 7.2 per FTP auf meinem Laptop zu installieren. Ich habe die alte Partitionierung (von SuSE 7.1) beibehalten hda1 suspend-to-disk hda2 /boot als ext2 hda3 /windows als vfat hda4 extended hda5 swap hda6 / als reiserfs Auf den ersten Blick läuft alles prima, lilo ist im MBR eingerichtet und kann auch windoof starten - nur bei linux gibt's Kernel Panic und unable to mount root! Meine erste Vermutung: reiserfs im Standard-Kernel nicht aktiviert? leider finde ich die Quellen des SuSE-Kernels nicht als Paket (Tomaten auf den Augen? früher war das immer lx_suse) Falls jemand ähnliche Probleme gelöst hat, oder mir bezüglich des RPMs weiterhelfen kann - vielen Dank Ciao Frederik Loos

Hallo Liste! Ich hab einen altes Compaq "Armada 1560D" Notebook, mit SuSE 7.2. Lief bisher alles wunderbar mit einer Trust PCMCIA Netzwerkkarte. Leider musste die weg und hab dafür eine "Level One" 10/100 FPC-0103TX eingesetzt. Die installation mit dem Tulip Treiber hat scheinbar funktioniert (der Treiber wird in SUPPORTED.CARDS für die Karte angegeben). Sieht alles OK aus beim booten. Ich kann mich auch selbst pingen, andere Hosts erreiche ich aber nicht. Hat irgendjemand eine Idee was das Problem sein könnte? Was mir auch komisch vorkommt.
