[opensuse-gnome] Moving to Sonar as the default theme

Hi all, It's been discussed on opensuse-artwork [1] and on IRC, so let's just do a final round before moving. We want to move to Sonar as the default theme for 11.2, and do that before the next milestone. It's certainly not perfect right now, but the sooner we get people to use it, the better. If you need the package for testing, you can use: + the packages in home:aaronbockover:opensuse-refresh if you're on 11.1 + the package in home:vuntz:factory-playground if you're on factory (be careful to not take the printer stuff ;-)) FWIW, my package is Aaron's one, with some minor changes. A few questions (most are for Jakub ;-)): + Jakub: is it fine to keep the current (11.1) background? (as well as the grub/bootsplash stuff, I guess). + Jakub: do you want to use the gilouche icon theme by default, or the sonar one? + Jakub: happy if we file issues we have in bugzilla? + all: to add the theme to the livecd, we'll probably need to remove something there. If anybody has an opinion on what we can remove, please share :-) + all: it'd be nice to have a few people do some screenshots of the theme in action so that we can blog about this. [opensuse-gnome] New packages

Hello all, FYI; I've packaged libatasmart (required by DK-disks) and DeviceKit-disks in my home [1]. I can't yet submit these packages to GNOME:Factory/openSUSE:Factory as it requires a change in the device-mapper package as well. I've created a submitreq [3] to the maintainer of dm so will wait for him to accept (or decline) that submission. Would be cool if someone would want to package gnome-disk-utility [2] as well. I don't see an immediate need to update the style of the folders. [opensuse-gnome] GNOME first boot

*** Warning this is a rough idea *** Thinking about Odd-rationale's and some things that I had been thinking about before, I was wondering if there was value to having a "first boot" for gnome. So, basically the first time you log into gnome you are presented with a very simple set of questions. (think first time launching evolution and you are prompted to setup an email) I the first boot could have things like, theme, fonts, default apps, etc. Also, maybe setting up your network, do you have wireless or wired. Do you want to setup your printer now, etc... Hi all. I´m wondering, whether is any way how could i use Oxygen icons theme for Gtk-YaST? I don´t like very much Tango icons and i´d like to use Oxygen icons. So, is it possible? Hi, I think most applications using Gecko/XulRunner are maintained within Gnome so just to let you know: mozilla-xulrunner191 landed in Factory now. (Actually it is 1.9.1b4 but will be updated whenever the final version is released.) Anyway packages depending on xulrunner (and especially mozilla-xulrunner190) should be tested against XulRunner 1.9.1 and in case they work just migrated to that version. The basic concepts of embedding should basically be the same between 1.9.0 and 1.9.1 but there might be API issues. mozilla-xulrunner190 will not be dropped from Factory _now_ but should be declared obsolete if 1.9.1 is working since we never know how long it will be supported after 1.9.1 gets released. So the target is to drop xulrunner 1.9 if all shipped applications are migrated to 1.9.1. If there are problems with the migration of applications please let me know or favorably please file a bugreport against component "Firefox". [opensuse-gnome] Cleaning up our projects

Hello, We've looked at what maintainers we have for our various GNOME: projects and decided to clean them up a bit. People who have not contributed for a while, will be removed. If you are listed as a maintainer and got removed, and in your opinion, by mistake, please contact myself or Vincent and we'll rectify it. Also, the following projects will be deleted: GNOME:snapshots GNOME:snapshots:patched GNOME:snapshots:unpatched GNOME:test-updates:10.3 GNOME:Snapshots may be recreated in the future, if we have someone willing to work on it. We would also like to know if GNOME:GNOME1 is actually still needed or if it can be deleted as well. Would appreciate if Maintainers of that project could let us know. [opensuse-gnome] Making G:S:2.26 a bit more maintainable

Hi, At the moment, G:S:2.26 contains all the packages we have in G:F. I propose that we only keep there the packages for modules that follow the GNOME release cycle (and potential dependencies). This means we'd have a subset of the packages that live in G:F. This should help for a few reasons: + gives us a better/clearer overview of what we maintain there + less work for the build service + less updates for users If people like the idea, we can probably start by listing packages where the rdiff between openSUSE:11.1 and G:S:2.26 is empty. [opensuse-gnome] Make gnome-main-menu pluginable

Hi all, Here is the thing: 1. I use gnome-main-menu a lot, but seldom use "Place". The reasons maybe: a) I use terminal a lot. b) The current default setting of Nautilus having the place at the left side. If I use Nautilus a lot, there will always running a Nautilus window. if the left side of the Nautilus window was not covered by other applications, one click is enough. if the left side of the Nautilus window was covered by other applications, "Atl+Table" and one click is my first choise. second choise requires 2 steps: 1. look at my panel and click on a Running Nautilus Button 2. click on the place at the left side of the Nautilus. But if I want to use gnome-main-menu to find the place, there required 3 steps: 1. look at my panel and click on the "Computer" 2. click the "Place" button. 3. click the needed place. If I don't use Nautilus a lot, gnome-main-menu will be helpful. But in this case, most time, I'm back to a). And a 'cd' command will be more helpful. Admitedly, the count of the steps did not mean all as each of the step I use in gnome-main-menu takes less time. I don't know what is the status in the others' usage. But I think I am not the target user of "Place". 2. I read articals and bugs about recently used files, the requirements were quit different: recently meeting, recently appointment, recently saved files. I have my own requirement and I guess some developers have the same one: recently bugs. hehe I'm working on replacing "Place" with "Bugs" in my gnome-main-menu. >From 1 and 2, the subject of this mail comes: what about make the gnome-main-menu pluginable, recently app, recently document, recently .....
