[opensuse-buildservice] How can i setup package signing on local obs?

I got the daemon running, and the sign program connects but than hangs, while the signd starts some subprocesses and nothing happens. [opensuse-buildservice] Build Repository name added to resulting filename?

Hi, when building using spec files or when using dsc files, is there a possibility to have the 'Build Repository' name added to the resulting .rpm or .deb filename? For example: Rather than glade-2.12.1-143.7.i586.rpm it should be named: glade-2.12.1-143.7.SUSE_Linux_10.1.i586.rpm (or similar) The reason I am asking is: When I build against various repositories and then download the built files for example to my home dir they have all the same name. Of course I could change/add the reposi name when downloading but that is annoying with more than a few packages. [opensuse-buildservice] DKIM-milter addon for postfix

Hi all, this is my first mail to this mail-list. Before try to reinvent the wheel, is there any project to build DKIM-milter rpm package for openSUSE which can be used by postfix?. I'm afraid I will need soon to implement DKIM in my postfix sever, and a rpm providing this would make my life easy. Till the moment I just tried to build, and to achieve it I've had to install sendmail-devel. [opensuse-buildservice] Proper etiquette?

Hi list. I've read the online wiki docs, and they're great--as far as they go. Unfortunately, they don't go very far. Don't get me wrong--I love the opensuse build service! I can't believe we got along all these years without it. The trouble is, there's no proper use-case description. I don't mean a formal design document. I mean a true user scenario document, answering questions like: "Why would I want to use this tool?" "How do I properly use it?" "What's the proper workflow?" "When do I build locally?" "What philosophy do I use to decide when to commit?" "When do I publish?" "Which repos do I choose?" "Should I disable publish during testing?" "What do I tell my package users about my use of the OBS?" etc, etc. Before you send me off to http://en.opensuse.org/Build_Service, or any of it's sub-links (Tutorial, WorkFlow, etc), just know that I've already read these documents--committed them to memory, in fact. They're not that helpful. Oh, sure, they provide the basic "HowTo" information. What's missing is the "Why" information. There's still some vision in the designers' heads that hasn't made it onto the table yet. Can we get a brain dump on some of this stuff? It will explain to me (and others) what the original intent of the project is--and in a way that will make it simpler to get started using the OBS properly--the way it was originally intended to be used. Too much of this really cool sort of stuff takes decades for people to start using properly because "proper" use of it has to become folklore passed down from generation to generation by the bards... [opensuse-buildservice] Building RPMs for SLED 10

Hi all, Thanks to opensuse buildservice hosting kmp drivers (appleonkel) for ASUS Eee PC, I was able to install opensuse 10.3 on it. However, I now have a need to install SLED 10 SP1 on the Eee PC. I need drivers for wlan(atl), audio, acpi and webcam. Since these drivers are available for opensuse 10.3 on the build service, how/what can I do to get these drivers built against SLED 10? Also, as an aside, I can't seem to get xorg.conf to have the right settings on SLED 10 (the same settings worked on opensuse 10.3). Thanks. Han

Hi, Since I've started helping packaging GNOME, I was wondering if there were any easy page where I could know the current status of things. I don't think we have this. I know that Debian has some interesting examples: + http://dehs.alioth.debian.org/maintainer.php?name=gnome-panel Shows some information about the upstream status + http://packages.qa.debian.org/g/gnome-panel.html Shows some information about a specific package, including a TODO item about a new upstream release and links to bugs I know I've used this website quite a few times to know what was happening in Debian wrt some package. + http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=pkg-gnome-maintainers@lists.alioth… Big table with lots of information about packages maintained by some maintainer. (too much information, imho, though) I'd really love to get something similar (but improved, of course ;-)). I'd be especially interested in a page listing all the packages I'm interested in, with a small list of things for each package: + new upstream version to package + number of rpmlint errors to fix (with a link to display them) + number of relevant bugs in our bugzilla (hard right now, since we don't have a component for each package) + builds/doesn't build on some architecture/distro (we already have this, good!) [opensuse-buildservice] SDL_perl continuously building/scheduled. Never 'fails'

Something strange is happening with SDL_perl at https://build.opensuse.org/project/monitor?project=games:libs, on four of the architectures the package builds, fails and immediately goes back to being scheduled again without sitting in the 'failed' state at all (on the other architectures the package either fails or is blocked). This is preventing any of the other packages from being published. Any idea why this might be happening? Regards, Matt Williams

Hello, I see that no KMP is being built on factory i586 (still works against x86_64). The problem actually seems to be, that this code snip does not work anymore: for flavor in %{flavors_to_build}; do rm -rf obj/$flavor cp -r %{name}-%{version}-%{svn_rev} obj/$flavor pushd obj/$flavor make modules popd done I checked several KMPs, and they all skip the for flavor in %{flavors_to_build}.. so I assume that %flavor_to_build is no longer populated... Is it a small thing and can be fixed like this, or shall I file a bugzilla entry? Against what category would it be?
