Digging a bit deeper than before: I am looking into the information appearing in epkowa.conf. I already know that this file must be introduced into /etc/sane.d/ and I have done so. # For each network attached device, you must add an entry as follows: # # net <IP-address | hostname> [port-number] # Ask your network administrator for the device's IP address or check # for yourself on the panel (if it has one). The port-number is very # optional and defaults to 1865. # Note that network attached devices are not queried unless configured # in this file. # # Examples: # #net 192.16.136.2 1865 #net 10.0.0.1 #net scanner.mydomain.com I know the net IP address; it is a fixed address of 192.168.1.26. ( My user name is doug; the computer name is linux1; or does it want the printer name? What is "my domain?") It shows examples, none of which completely agree with the above "requirements." Looking for a suggestion as to how to fill in the blanks. Also, in the documentation recommends to report this via bug report at freedestop.org's bugzilla, but that is already shutdown, and I fail to find a proper GIT repo for AMD to report this, My system is an AMD Ryzen 5 4600H with Radeon Graphics with 04:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Renoir (rev c7) Could you shed light on how to get the driver installed on my system?

Hi, I have a Brother scanner ADS-1700W, which works under Leap 15.2 There is an older and a newer driver, the older works in Leap. Some time ago I could get the older driver somehow working in Tumbleweed. But after a fresh Tumbleweed installation Yast doesn't even install it: Here are the error messages driver: older - younger --------------------------------------- error messages/driver works in Leap: Fehler: INVALID:brscan5-1.1.0-0.x86_64 (RPM): Fehler beim Überprüfen der Signatur [6-Datei ist unsigniert] Header SHA1 digest: OK MD5 digest: OK Paket ist nicht signiert! [opensuse-support] Severe problems with Firefox under Tumbleweed

After a recent upgrade of Tumbleweed Firefox is not usable anymore. It takes almost 100% of the CPU and keeps indicating loading a page. When I close it it asks for a problem report to Mozilla. Hi, I'm trying to get an existing virtual machine running. The procedure worked in Leap 15.2 but I have no success with Tumbleweed. There are two error messages: with libvirt after: systemctl status libvirtd - "Failed to initialize libnetcontrol. Management of interface devices is disabled" and with the Virtual Machine Manager: - "The libvirtd service does not appear to be installed. Install and run the libvirtd service to manage virtualization on this host. A virtualization connection can be manually added via File->Add Connection" I documented what I did below Any advice? Hi list, I just wanted to upgrade my TW laptop, which I had not done in a while, and noticed that this would remove gimp-plugins-python. Of course I canceled the upgrade. A GIMP without support for the python plugins is close to useless, at least for me. What do others in a similar situation do? Hello, After one of the latest TW updates I noticed this message whenever I start some app from console: *No protocol Specified* Example: xclock No protocol specified The app is working normally but I would like to renove the warning message because it never appeared before! I googled but almost the topics are about remote X connection to local X server which is not my case. [opensuse-support] Missing icons in KDE/Plasma system tray after upgrade to Leap 15.2

Hi all, I just did a 'zypper dup' from openSUSE Leap 15.1 to 15.2. With 15.1 everything was working as expected. With 15.2 the system tray icons of several applications don't show in KDE/Plasma. For example: - amarok - clementine - pidgin - twinkle The behavior is the same for a freshly created user. I also tried deleting ~/.cache but to no avail. Generally icons are shown there (e.g. clipboard, network manager). The upgrade to Leap 15.2 itself went w/o problems. Searching the net didn't give me anything that seemed to apply to my scenario. Since the problem seems to affect Qt4 (clementine), Qt5 (Amarok) or GTK2 (pidgin) apps it looks like the problem is not related to s specific application. Is there anything that needs to be done to have systray icons in KDE/Plasma under Leap 15.2? TIA -- Till -- Dipl.-Inform.
