[opensuse-support] Monitor configuration change in Plasma 5.17

Before the upgrade to Plasma 5.17, when I connected my laptop to the docking station and the laptop's lid was closed, KDE would automatically disable the laptop screen. Now I see that all my three screens (the two external and the laptop one) are enabled even if the lid is closed. I find it weird, probably a bug/regression. Does anybody else see this? Should I report it upstream? Thank you in advance Cris

After upgrading to Tumbleweed 20191014, I'm getting this message whenever I start a bash session: >bash: mc: line 1: syntax error: unexpected end of file >bash: error importing function definition for `mc' It seems to be a problem with the file /etc/profile.d/mc.sh mc is installed from the main OSS repo.

[opensuse-support][TW] hang trying to copy from NTFS filesystem to another NTFS filesystem using MC

Is this a known MC or ntfs-3g limitation? First I tried copying from an NTFS USB stick files that originally came from a .tgz file created from an NTFS filesystem. I tried using MC in the Knoppix 8.6 GUI from that stick to an installed SSD's Windows system partition. MC hung around 70% complete, leaving no clue in dmesg. Next try was from the original Windows 7 system partition on the old HD to the freshly installed Windows 7 system partition on a brand new SSD, which froze MC 4.8.23 on openSUSE Tumbleweed at 88% complete, files processed 9533/10387, and again no apparent clue in dmesg. I tried a third time, also using TW, but not selecting any symlinks to copy, and the hang happened at 9531/10370 @Target /mnt/Users/username/AppData/LocalLow/Microsoft/CryptnetUrlCache/Content/ prwxrwxrwx 2 root root 0 Oct 8 19:26 B398B80134F72209547439DB21AB308D_CCF564BE5A3C924B17DDEBDEB5236E1 Is the p in prwxrwxrwx some kind of indicator that failure can be expected absent some kind of decryption environment? There is inexplicably no such file on the source, so I'm at a loss what's happening, and not. [opensuse-support] Exempt Emacs and Firefox from haviing their session stored

I've set up a new Tumbleweed machine and I can't find the place where one could say that a program should be start fresh at session restore (which is always a manually saved session for me) and not come up with whatever the last time I've logged out. I'm not even sure about how I managed to do that previously , but I'd like to get that set up again. Hi Folks, I'm trying to install 15.1 and have encountered a "Wrong Digest" error with libxcb-icccm4-0.4.1-lp151.2.2.x86_64.rpm on two consecutive days. How would I go about reporting this? [opensuse-support] Bad repository data - how to handle?

Hi, I'm just trying to update my TW laptop to latest version. I also have quite some packages installed from the games repo. Unfortunately, the repo metadata seems corrupted. During download I'm confronted with tons of messages like Downloaded data exceeded the expected filesize '127.0 KiB' of 'http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/games/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/x86_64/…'. Abort, retry, ignore? [a/r/i/...? shows all options] (a): r So I aborted, first tried to refresh, but it was up to date. So I disabled the games repo and started zypper dup again. Now I'm presented with 50 problems where it wants to switch stuff to another repo, which is just as PITA to answer as the previous situation. Looking at the zypper manpage I didn't find a switch to ease this situation, hoping for a switch like --always-keep-installed for such cases. Did I overlook something? Hi, my system logfiles contain lots of messages Failed to reset fd limit before activating service: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied: Failed to restore old fd limit: Operation not permitted It's both service org.opensuse.Snapper and org.kde.powerdevil.backlighthelper triggering that message. What is it, why is it there, and is it a problem?
