[opensuse-support] Qt-Creator

To Whom it May Concern: I've been running Qt-Creator on Windows for years but six-months ago I switched to OpenSuse Leap 15.1 KDE. I've managed to get qt-creator installed on opensuse but I cannot get it to build/compile code without issues, many, many issues, 1000s of them. I've installed it from OpenSuse. I've tried downloading it from Open Suse's respository, from qt.io/Downloads, etc., I just cannot get it to work. At the moment I'm running it in VirtualBox 6.1 because it crashed my main HD so many times. Any assistance you could offer me would be greatly appreciated. https://en.opensuse.org/Category:Wiki_editing_help ought to have a pointer to the wiki markup language, whatever there is that catalogs equivlents to HTML, such as pre, code, strike, list, dd, dt, etc. I would put one there if I could find one anywhere, and I would to more wiki updating as I find necessary. If any exist, it/they are well disguised. https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Audio_troubleshooting is in bad need of help from someone who actually knows audio setup. It has too many references to expired releases. There is a bug in kernel 5.5.2-2.1 in Kernel:/stable/standard that generates the title error message and has already had a patch created for it, per: https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/14682 First question: since the version in stable was compiled well after the patch was made available, will that (stable) be automatically patched, or will it just 'age out', or should I file a bugzilla? Second question: is this bug just 'confusing people' as its originator says, or are there actually some bad things possible to happen running this kernel with this particular unpatched bug? I haven't noticed anything unusual yet but they sure seem to have rushed to fix it so... Thanks. Weren't they in Notifications? That only has one selection screen now. There used to be a dropdown with many, in which a large scroll was required to find the one where startup sound and exit sound was enabled. I don't see anything else that makes any sense to contain these. [opensuse-support] alternative ssh ports not set by yast in firewall

My situation seems to be out of sync with that page. Brother-in-law's bad SSD originally used btrfs for 42.2, and eventually reached 15.1 in November. First I used ddrescue to clone from the bad SSD to another disk. Then I connected the other disk to a working 15.1 as sdb. These are the last steps from https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:BTRFS that I've taken: # btrfs rescue zero-log /dev/sda1 # Then try to mount the device normally. If it works, stop going. What exactly is "mount normally" with btrfs? # mount /dev/sdb2 /mnt has apparently mounted / just fine, but /mnt/home is void, empty. It should contain what needs to be rescued. [opensuse-support] Where is systemd-logind device access configured?

Hi list, as in the topoic - I try to figure out where the rules are set by which systemd-logind grants access to devices like sound and video. [opensuse-support] measuring bandwidth in a month

How does one with unlimited/uncapped download bandwidth/data ISP service find out how much is being used in an average month? I expect to need to move soon, and cannot count on being able to find a provider without a cap in the locations I'm looking. I might have no choice other than Hughesnet.
