openSUSE KDE Live Rescue links failing:

Hi, I do not know better where to report this right now. https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Tumbleweed_installation#LiveCDs/Rescue_CD is unable to complete provide download for the following: KDE Live CD - i686 .iso *and* it's GPG signed sha-256. Is this because the 32 bit is not being maintained? Is there a i686 Live KDE Rescue CD available at another location? Where is the best place to locate checksums to verify these particular sha.256 files? Is the main Live DVD a better solution (for troubleshooting) generally since it provides network connection capability?😕 Thanks

Print two files in duplex ( one file in each side)

Hi everyone: I want print in command line (i will use a script) two PDF files one in each side of the screen. Of course each PDF has single page. [15.5] systemd timer ignores override/config edit

7 days ago I ran 'systemctl cat mdcheck_start.timer' and decided I didn't like either the time or the day of the default, Sunday @01:00, so I did 'systemctl edit mdcheck_start.timer'. The following is the result of saving the edit: # systemctl cat mdcheck_start.timer # /usr/lib/systemd/system/mdcheck_start.timer # This file is part of mdadm. # # mdadm is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify it # under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by # the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 of the License, or # (at your option) any later version. What more is required to implement my timer change here? As yet, I haven't found an example of making a change to a unit file, rather than an addition or deletion. :( The editor systemctl uses for editing is not my preference. I think it's nano. I want mcedit. Where do I change the global default editor to my preference? Nothing looks obvious in /etc/sysconfig/, in yast or in /etc/alternatives/. If there's no simple way, and the /etc/alternatives method can be implemented, I'd like to try it. Problem with vpnc connection

Hi, I have one working VPN conection to a FritzBox in Germany. Created already long time ago. I now added a second VPN connection. On attempt to connect it instantly reports X1E NetworkManager[15459]: /usr/sbin/vpnc: unknown host `xxbgbieemnmfx698.myfritz.net' although I can ping this host (only accessible with IPv6) Thats a bit strange. Any idea what the issue with vpnc may be? Cheers Axel

Tumbleweed: No /var/run/utmp?

Hi list, I just noticed (trying to run 'finger') that my Tumbleweed systems (that's two, ATM 20231226 and 20231225) don't have /var/run/utmp Is this an error/bug, or am I missing something?

Mouse cursor size/color

Currently running OpenSuse 15.4 with KDE(will be using 15.5 on my new computer as soon as I transfer my files over). In older versions of KDE, it was easy to change the mouse cursor size, color, etc. I've been searching and can't seem to find that anymore. Can the mouse cursor still be modified? If so, how. Leap 15.5 in VMware - GUI fails to start after updates

I've got a test system in VMware Workstation 17.5 that, after applying the updates released since 2023-11-12, hangs upon reaching the start of the Locale service. It's not a "hard hang" - I can't toggle VTs in the VM, but I can connect via SSH. I've been able to reproduce this with a fresh installation as well from the most recent Net install ISO (also in VMware). Adding 'nomodeset' to the kernel line in grub gets me to a text login on tty1, but Xorg still fails to start. Looks like a segfault. The /var/log/Xorg.0.log is at https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/ e8722dd3b81a I've added locks for xorg-x11-server, xorg-x11-server-extra, and xorg-x11- server-Xvfb (the three Xorg packages that show up for updates), but the system still fails to get to a GUI target. iptables not showing a udp port allowance that is set in firewall-cmd and yast firewall settings?

Support, 15.5, simple. one ethernet card, being set to external network zone. firewall-cmd lists one extra udp entry that I have set via the yast firewall settings. I wonder why or how I find it in raw iptables command? iptables -S nor iptables-save shows no such udp port definition. ------------------ # sudo firewall-cmd --list-all external (active) target: default icmp-block-inversion: no interfaces: eth0 sources: services: ssh ports: 12345//udp protocols: forward: no masquerade: yes forward-ports: source-ports: icmp-blocks: rich rules: ------------- sudo iptables -S [sudo] password for root: -P INPUT ACCEPT -P FORWARD ACCEPT -P OUTPUT ACCEPT -N f2b-sshd -A INPUT -p tcp -m multiport --dports 22 -j f2b-sshd -A f2b-sshd -j RETURN ---------------------------------- very simple setup. anyone know what the heck is happening? external zone allows tcp/ssh for external access as a simple rule. that is being shown in all of these commands. the additional one single udp port is not being shown :( anyone?
