[opensuse-support] Recreate font settings

Hi, following up on an earlier question, I have somehow managed to have a lot of missing fonts in KDE / Tumbleweed. No idea if an update went wrong or a rpmsave killed this....this is mostly annoying in KMail Question...how can I recreate font settings? I tried /usr/sbin/fonts-config but that did not change anything. Any ideas? Thanks! [opensuse-support] HTTPS for package downloads?

I'm wondering what the pros and cons are when using HTTPS for package downloads in openSUSE. By default, all repos are added as HTTP. When adding an additional repo, for example multimedia:apps[1], the link will be HTTPS since websites redirect to that nowadays. I suppose zypper and YaST aren't vulnerable to something like CVE-2019-3462[2][3], and load balancing works over both HTTP and HTTPS, right? [opensuse-support] Falkon - PDF won't be downloaded

Hi Together, after setup of a new user, I can't open/download any PDF file. It opens a new window, but it stays grey - nothing happens. Additional I can't download it via right click or change the handling to Download/open with default Application (Okular) like in the past. falkon:config (myself translated and extended) Userversion 3.1.0 Qt-Version 5.15.0 Plattform Linux x86_64 (openSUSE tumbleweed 20200615) Browserkennung: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Falkon/3.1.0 Chrome/80.0.3987.163 Safari/537.36 [...] Chromium PDF Viewer Portable Document Format (internal-pdf-viewer) chromium-pdf (mhjfbmdgcfjbbpaeojofohoefgiehjai) [...] After installation of: zypper in libQt5Pdf5 libqt5-qtpdf-imports The behavior changed a little bit. There is on the left side a dialog to download or print the file. But still a paper with an Frowning Face inside. Any idea how to change the settings, and select download/open feature instead internal usage? PS: Will be nice if "libqt5-qtpdf-imports" is required to use Falkon, that this will be added in the dependencies. [opensuse-support] Usable taskbar appearing on SDDM login screen

Hi This is a strange one, it has happened a few times since 5.19 was installed. I've attached a small image of it. Occasionally the taskbar from the user i logged out of gets loaded on the SDDM login screen. I can click on Firefox and it will load my logged out users' set up with all the correct tabs open and i can use it. I've logged this as a Plasmashell issue with a "grave" status. [opensuse-support] Configuring pulseaudio daemon on KDE

I want to configure the pulseaudio daemon on KDE Plasma. There are files in ~/.pulse already, including 'daemon.conf' The pulseaudio manual doesn't mention this user config location, just ~/.config/pulse What generates these files in ~/.pulse? Can I edit them or will they be overwritten?

[opensuse-support] Where to go about openSuSE 15.2 installation image build process?

Hi, I might have asked similar before - if I did - I did not get anywhere. Could anyone point me to some useful resources/repo/mailingList about how/where is openSuSE 15.2 installation image put together? I would like to make fairly trivial modification to the upcoming installation media, so that I can use it for basic headless installation. There used to be mksusecd tool, but it looks like that it was last used for openSuSE 13.x series. I suspect that kiwi-NG maybe used to create installation media theses days, but I cannot find 15.2 installation media description. I also went through the mailing lists and OBS projects and I cannot find the 15.2 project. factory=thumbleweed .... so I am not sure where would be the best place to ask. Anyway, I have bunch of fairly inaccessible closet servers - it is not practical to attach a screen to them and they do not have remote management like Aspeed 2500 (cost + low power). At the same time, I would love to stay fairly aligned to to standard 15.2 distro and its fairly polished installation. [opensuse-support] Cannot complete registration with openSUSEforums

Hi all I have a problem with Leap 15.1 and went to sign up with openSUSE forums. I received a validation email, which contained neatly ordered garbage but no validation code. The sender of this email is the webmaster from microfocus, but an email to that address just bounces. I have since discovered that openSUSE and microfocus are no longer associated. So, given that the validation process is broken, how do I get signed up to the forums? [opensuse-support] 182 coredumps since yesterday

Hi This is only for the last 2 days. I've not monitored /var/lib/systemd/coredumps and i've never removed any coredump files manually so i can't say if its just started happening. This is a list of the coredumps: drkonqi, gst-plugin-scan, kactivitymanage, kdeconnectd, kded5, kdialog, kdialog_progres, kglobalaccel5, kioslave5, klauncher, kscreen_backend, plasmashell, qdbus, sddm-greeter. I had an issue with "qdbus" no longer working in my backup script since 5.19 so that may account for a few of them. i've now updated my backup stript to use "qdbus-qt5" now so i'll see if reduces creating coredumps.
