Synaptics Touchpad

Hello everyone, I hope you forgive I don't write in German - I can't speak German, but this mailing-list seems to be what I need so I've got no other choice than try it in English. I've just installed Suse 9.1 on Acer TravelMate 245 notebook and I have bad problems with its Synaptics Touchpad. I've chosen Synaptics Touchpad in SaX2, even the appropriate XF86Config part is exactly same as the one presented on sdb.suse.com, but still the touchpad works quite strange: it behaves OK for lets say 30 seconds and then the cursor "flies away" (often randomly "clicking" everywhere), then again for 30 seconds OK, and so on... The error console still displays "Synaptics driver lost sync at byte 1" and "Synaptics driver lost sync at byte 4". What can I do to fix this problem? I've read somewhere the cause is that the touchpad works in some "relative mode" (3 byte mode) while it should work in "absolute mode" (6 byte mode), but this information is quite useless for me, since I really don't know what to do with it. Liste, sorry dass ich das hier poste (aber das problem hab ich wirklich auf 'nem dell m60 ;-) ich will yast online update fahren, bin aber hinter firewall und brauche proxy. strace laesst mich vermuten dass libcurl verwendet wird und nicht wget. jedenfalls hab ich /etc/wgetrc und ~root/.curlrc so gesetzt, dass von der commandline z.B. curl http://www.perl.com wget http://www.perl.com jeweils fukntinieren, nur online update bringt immer noch status 407 wer bitte hat den heissen tip fuer mich? danke & gruss, martin kraegeloh __________________________________________________________________ Zeigen Sie Emotionen mit der WEB.DE Bild-SMS! SuSE 9.1 Drucken CUPS -> lprold

Hallo! Letztes Wochenende hat mein Sohn auf sein Laptop die SuSE 9.1 installiert. Sie läuft im Wesentlichen. Als es dann daran ging den Drucker einzurichten, traten jedoch folgende Probleme auf: Installiert ist CUPS, ein Online-Update wurde gemacht. Dann wurde YAST2 aufgeruden und dort die Druckereinrichtung. Da der alte "Internet-Router" mit lprold läuft, wurde ein "Unix-ähnlicher Drucker" ausgewählt. Der Verbindungstest war erfolgreich. Eigendlich wurde alles bei default belassen. Als dann eine Testseite gedruckt werden sollte, ging's nicht. Ein lpc status zeigt, daß "Queueing enabled", aber "printing disabled" ist. Sicherheitshalber nochmals ein rccups restart eingegeben, nutzt gar nichts. Also versuchte ich es über samba (weil der "Internet-Router" auch samba kann). Wieder dasselbe Drama. Die Verbindung funktioniert (Zielrechner erreichbar), aber es geht nichts über's LAN. Unter WinXP, und auch von meinem Laptop aus (SuSE 9.0) ist es dagegen überhaupt kein Problem, zu drucken; also schließe ich einmal aus, daß es am Zielrechner liegt. Bitte um Hinweise woran es liegen kann. Ich suchte mehrere Stunden im Internet, konnte aber nichts brauchbares finden. mfg Rainer Hantsch

Realtek 8180 wireless PCMCIA

Hallo Laptop Liste! Ich habe eine Netgear PCMCIA Wireless Karte mit dem Chipsatz Realtek 8180. Choppy sound on Vaio with powersaved on 9.1

When playing a sound from KDE and/or ALSA, and the powersaved daemon is running, I get choppy sound. If I stop powersaved with "rcpowersaved stop" the sound is normal again. This choppy sound is as the sound does not comes out for some miliseconds various times per second. This choppy effect is regular in time. I have tried to change values from /etc/powersaved.conf with no effect whatsoever, in particular the default value (333ms) sample rate for the daemon. My theory is that powersaved scans /proc some times per second to detect ACPI events. This seems to interrupt the playing of a sound since they both (and others...) share the INT9. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- Murphy's 5th Law: If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway. ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, mal ne Frage, die nicht direkt von Linux zu tun hat, aber mit Laptops. Wie bekomme ich die metallenen Aufkleber auf den Handauflageflächen ab? Ich meine das Windows- und Centrino-Logo. Besonders das Windows-Logo stört mich. *g* MfG Kay

keine Internetverbindung nach 1. Starten

Hallo! Seit einiger Zeit findet mein Laptop nach dem 1. Hochfahren keine Internetverbindung via WLAN (centrino). Die LED blinkt zwar, aber sont tut sich nichts. Wenn ich dann neu boote, funktioniert alles wie gewohnt!? Jemand ne Idee woran das liegen kann? Achso, ich hab Suse 9.1 pro MfG Jonas

Freeze bei init 0

Hi, ich habe folgendes Problem seit SuSE 9.1 pro: Wenn ich meinen Noteboot runterfahre (init 0), schaltet sich dieser nicht automatisch ab, sondern bleibt bei "system will be halted immediately" stecken. Muss ihn dann per Button ausschalten. Weiß jemand ne Lösung? Gruß ChG

Palm Zire 72 + Bluetooth und SuSE 9.1

Hallo, ich habe ein problem mit mein Palm Zire 72. Es sync mit einer USB Verbindung, aber nicht mit einer Bluetooth Verbindung. Main PC leuft SuSE 9.1 Pro x86, hat ein Acer USB Dongle model BT-700 (unterstuezt unter SuSE 9.1 AFAIK). Das Palm hat mein PC erkennt, und es ist in "trusted devices" registriert. Auch mein PC kann das Palm gucken, hcitool scan listet main Palm. NUM-Key automatisch aktivieren

Hallo, bin mit nicht sicher, ob es eine Hardware-Frage ist. Sorry, wenn nicht. *g* Unter Windows ist die NUM-Taste immer automatisch aktiv. Kann man das auch bei Linux irgendwo einstellen? MfG Kay
