Hallo zusammen, ich habe hier inzwischen erfolgreich eine SuSE 7.2 auf einem Samsung NV5750TX installiert. Läuft alles prima. Nur noch folgendes "Schönheitsmanko": Unter Windows gibts die sehr praktische Möglichkeit, das Touchpad mit Extra-Funktionen belegen, wie z.B.: - Tippt man oben links in die Ecke, bedeutet das einen Dopplklick - Fahre ich ganz rechts am Rand hoch und runter, so ist das wie ein Scroll-Rädchen an einer Maus usw... Gibt es da für Linux (KDE) auch irgendwelche Tools, mit denen man solche Spielereien realisieren kann?? Danke, Florian.

Toshiba 2800-300 Savage IX kitzeln

Tach zusammen, ich habe mir ein Toshiba 2800-300 gekauft. Zunächst ging nur der XF_FBDev jetzt habe ich auch den von Planet S3 gepatchten XF_SVGA Server zum rennen gebracht. Leider will er nur 16bit Farbtiefe. Weiß jemand woran das liegt ?! Nächste Frage: Gibt es eine komfortable Lösung zur Ansteuerung eines zweiten Monitors, bzw. eines Beamers. mir geht's vor allem um die schnelle Umschaltung zwischen Grafikmodi, ohne den X-Server neu starten zu müssen. Weiß hier jemand ein paar interessante Tipps? Danke und Gruß, C. Hi, Im Archiv hab ich das Posting http://lists2.suse.com/archive/suse-laptop/2001-Oct/0108.html gefunden, in dem Martin Pitsch schreibt, dass das Dell Inspiron 4100 gut unter Linux läuft. Ich möchte mir so ein Notebook kaufen, nur leider habe ich im Netz wenig bis nichts über die Installation von X gefunden. Hat das jetzt jemand am Laufen? Falls ja, mit welchen Einstellungen? Netzwerkprobleme bei Dockingstation mit DELL Latitude C800

Ich habe vor einiger Zeit auf meine Dell Latitude C800 SuSE 7.2 installiert. Alles kein Problem - ich konnte alles machen (Netzwerk, Sound, X, ...) Nun habe ich aber auch eine Dockingstation bekommen. Dies hat eine eigene Netzwerkkarte. Wenn ich mich mit der verbinden will, geht gar nichts (auch kein ping). Ich weiss nicht ob die Karte erkannt wird. Es handelt sich auch um eine 3Com (wie beim Notebook) und ich hab 2 3Com zur Auswahl. Selbst wenn ich beide (oder nur 1) konfiguriere geht nichts. Wenn ich das Kabel auf das Notebook umstecke gehts, wenn das Kabel auf der Docking Station haengt nicht. .) Ich habe mir gedacht, das m=F6glicherweise die Karte nicht erkannt = wird - was koennte ich dann tun? .) oder sich aber die Karten im Weg sind (ich gehe ja ins selbe Netzwerk und habe bei gleich konfiguriert - Windows mekerts zwar, aber es funkt dort) - gibts das ? Kaufe wahrscheinlich in Kürze einen Laptop Leider weiss ich nicht, ob sich die SuSE 7.3 darauf halbwegs leicht installieren läßt... Es handelt sich um einen Supersonic von Gericom (PIII Tualatin) Graphik Radeon Mobility-P AGP4, ATI Tech.Enhanced, 32MB DVD-ROM-Laufwerk Matshita SR-8174 SoundMAX LT WinModem, Lucent (Modem is mir eigentlich egal hab sowieso ein externes....) IR und FireWire (interessieren mich nicht sonderlich) Hat jemand so eine Kiste mit Linux drauf , der mir seine Einstellungen schicken kann? Was ich eigentlich will, ist KDE mit Auflösung 1024x768, und kein Flimmern. Ist das ohne großen Aufwand möglich, wenn ja wie? Bin für jede Hilfe dankbar

Hallo Leute. Nach langem herumwursteln hab ich jetzt ein Notebook, das so halbwegs läuft. Zwar wars nicht ganz so leicht, wie mir gesagt wurde, aber das ist es sowieso nie.... Zur Graphikkarte : es ist eine Radeon Mobility-P AGP 4x, 32MB, ATI ich konnte sie mit den ati und vga drivern NICHT betreiben !!! ABER der vesa driver funktioniert (alles nur mit sax2 eingestellt) meine weiteren Sorgen sind : die Netzwerkkarte : Accton EN2242 Series MiniPCI Fast Ethernet Adapter unter Win2k läuft alles fein, unter linux nicht HILFE nötig : wie bringe ich die Netzwerkkarte in gang (momentan tulip driver installiert, der funktioniert aber nicht) Übrigens hat jemand eine Idee wie man eine SoundMAX von Analog Devices zum arbeiten bekommt? Und hat jemand eine "einfache" (ohne seitenweise verworrene Erklärungen) Lösung für ein LT Win Modem von Lucent unter SuSE 7.3 ? Ich hab das packet runtergeladen und installiert, wie mir das geraten wurde, aber es ist alles wie vorher. Was soll ich jetzt machen ? gruß in die runde Michael

Hallo, ich habe das gleiche Problem mit einem MAXDATA, aber nur, wenn alsa konfuguriert wird und einen Sound abspielt. (dann Haengt der Rechner auch unter Gnome.
