Wrong path to %{name}.lang in %files section when use tarball-less source service

Hello! I am try to follow a 'Avoid tar balls' section of OBS documentation at https://openbuildservice.org/help/manuals/obs-user-guide/cha.obs.best-pract… and got an error when processing a lang package files: "[ 555s] Processing files: mypackage-lang-1.0.noarch [ 555s] error: Could not open %files file /home/abuild/rpmbuild/BUILD/home/abuild/rpmbuild/SOURCES/mypackage-lang-1.0.noarch/mypackage.lang: No such file or directory" Extra leading directories are present in the path: /home/abuild/rpmbuild/BUILD/home/abuild/rpmbuild/SOURCES/... I was looking for how %files -f works, but it looks like the basic rpm functionality, not a macro. Probably I can fix it by setting some variable manually before processing? My specfile looks like at guide: %if %{build_tar_ball} Source0: %{name}-%{version}.tar.bz2 %else Source0: _service %endif ... %prep %if %{build_tar_ball} %setup -q %else %setup -n %_sourcedir/%name-%version -T -D %endif _service: <services> <service name="obs_scm"> <param name="url">git://git.code.sf.net/p/mypackage/code</param> <param name="scm">git</param> <param name="versionformat">2.5+git%cd.%h</param> <param name="filename">mypackage</param> </service> <service mode="buildtime" name="set_version"/> </services> But when %define build_tar_ball 1 - the package build successful, %file -f path is correct. Looks like a bug... Or I am doing something wrong?

How to change my e-mail address for build.o.o

There are several threads asking this very same question. The latest I found was this one: https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/buildservice@lists.opensuse.org/th…. However I still do not find an answer to that question. What I tried: - Going to my profile on build.o.o and edit my profile: The e-mail address is not editable. - Change the user meta via `osc meta user -e letsfindaway`: Does not change anything. - Login to Micro Focus and try to edit my profile there: The e-mail address is not editable. So what is the way to change the e-mail address listed on my profile in build.o.o and used to send e-mail notifications? Thanks for any insights and pointers! Martin

"have choice" on ffmpeg when building for Debian_Testing

I'm trying to build a package for various distributions to check compatibility with different library versions: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:letsfindaway:experimental/Open… The build for Debian_Testing does not start with the following message: unresolvable: have choice for libavcodec58 | libavcodec59 | libavcodec60: libavcodec-extra59 libavcodec59, have choice for libavformat58 | libavformat59 | libavformat60: libavformat-extra59 libavformat59, have choice for libavfilter7 | libavfilter8 | libavfilter9: libavfilter-extra8 libavfilter8, have choice for libavcodec60 = 7:6.1-4 needed by libavcodec-dev: libavcodec-extra60 libavcodec60, have choice for libavformat60 = 7:6.1-4 needed by libavformat-dev: libavformat-extra60 libavformat60, have choice for libavfilter9 = 7:6.1-4 needed by libavfilter-dev: libavfilter-extra9 libavfilter9 The "extra" packages add some more codecs, but are otherwise compatible. For building it does not matter which of them is used. Is there a way to tell the build service which package should be used?

KVM preinstall on workers in own obs instance trouble

Hi there, I am running the build server for the Packman builds - PMBS. Since a few weeks we are tying to build for Slowroll also. Since about a month (~ Sep 26th or around), builds fail on my two workers for Slowroll. It is possible, that there are repos, for which building is also failing - possibly xUbuntu_20.04, but for the main targets Leap and Tumbleweed everything is fine. Build server and workers are running Leap 15.5 and current packages from the OBS:Server:2.10 repo. The notable difference is the empty preinstall in worker setup. The respective file (/var/cache/obs/worker/root_?/.build.rpmlist) has an empty "preinstall:" line, whereas for successfully building projects the line is filled with the packages for the KVM setup environment. We have successful builds for Slowroll in PMBS, but these results date back to approx. Sep 26th. Around that time "something" must have changed - "I didn't do anything, I swear!" :) Where does the preinstall information come from, how can I further debug, how can I fix builds for Slowroll (and possibly other affected projects)? Hi, on our public OBS instance, as soon as I click the notifications, I get an 'internal server error' message. I opened https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1216833 for the same, but no reaction so far. Whom can I ask? Cheers Axel

split package: difficulty to build for openSUSE

Hello, I have difficulties to build a package for openSUSE tumbleweed. My package is rather complicated, it consists of: a (meta) package (damask), that just contains some examples and dependencies to - two compiled packages (Fortran/C) called damask_mesh and damask_grid - a python package (python3-damask) This setup works for various package formats, on OBS it works for Debian and Fedora. Unfortunately, with the extra complication of having multiple Python versions (3.9, 3.10, and 3.11) I don't manage to get it working for openSUSE tumbleweed. As far as I see, the root of the problem is that %python_subpackages is not limited to the Python package but applied to all sub packages. If anyone is aware of a package with a similar structure, I could try using it as an example. appstream on AlamLinux:8 is broken

In our meta.xml we get alma 8 via: <path project="openSUSE.org:AlmaLinux:8" repository="standard"/> <arch>x86_64</arch> `BuildRequires: ruby` fails as unresolvable because ruby is in appstream for A8, so we add this: <path project="openSUSE.org:AlmaLinux:8" repository="appstream"/> but ruby remains unresolvable. I believe it is because appstream on AlamLinux:8 is broken (Screenshot ➜ https://ibb.co/kDQKxPv) If the image above is broken: 1. go to https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/AlmaLinux:8 2. under Build Results all 3 appstream arch’s are red triangles w/ exclamation point 3. mouseover x86_64 and you’ll see both a “repository set up is broken” error and an “unresolvable preinstall” error about nothing providing `rpm` If it helps our `openSUSE.org`’s project’s meta.xml is: <project name="openSUSE.org"> <title>Standard OBS instance at build.opensuse.org</title> <description>This instance delivers the default build targets for OBS.</description> <remoteurl>https://api.opensuse.org/public</remoteurl> </project> HTH, Dan

Build jobs have been processed, new repository is not yet created

Hi all, I found that my https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home:alvistack keep in status "Build jobs have been processed, new repository is not yet created" for 2+ days, but new packages could create + commit + build successfully. Just couldn't download them due to "new repository is not yet created". May someone give me a hints for trouble shooting this issue? Regards, Edison Wong

Understanding when/why a package seems to have been removed from OBS

Sorry if this is not the right place to ask such a question, please direct me to appropriate channels if that is the case. Previously I have been a user of the related packages mingw64-libnova-devel and mingw64-libnova; which I'm sure were available about 1 year or so ago, which used to be under: https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/windows:mingw:win64 However, they are no longer listed - so I'm wondering what happened to them? AFAIK they don't have any reason to be obsoleted / unmaintained. The standard openSUSE factory version is still available: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Factory/libnova If necessary, I will recreate a suitable .spec file to generate the mingw versions myself, but it would be nice if I didn't need to recreate such an item. IIRC the spec for the Windows version seemed quite straight-forward - i.e. the cross compile worked without any additional changes. My own web searches have come up blank for a version of this .spec file (and indeed that mingw variants were in OBS at all). Thanks for any information on this matter. -- Be Seeing You - Rob. CentOS 8 Stream builds unresolvable

Hi, For some time, CentOS 8 Stream builds are unresolvable because of the following error: unresolvable: nothing provides gcc = 8.5.0-18.el8 needed by gcc-c++, (got version 8.5.0-15.el8), nothing provides libgomp = 8.5.0-15.el8 needed by gcc, (got version 8.5.0-18.el8) Can someone please have a look at it? I doubt that it is a Centos problem and they have broken gcc packages in the distro for weeks... Thanks M.

Fedora 39 missing i586

Hi, we have several packages which have a successful build but did not get published in https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/science:dlr. All the relevant switches in the config seem to be on. It shows https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/science:dlr/patchinfo as blocked but I am not sure why and would be thankful for help. Best regards, Michael
