Hello All, I'm running a private instance and I'd like to enable networking on my workers so they can build some java apps, via maven, which need to download pom's/war's from the net. [opensuse-buildservice] DoD rpm download blocked

Hi, when building a kiwi image with obs2.7 and DoD repos, it downloads over 200 Packages and than stays in this state: - SLES12SP2beta3 (kiwi-image) no former build, start build blocked: downloading 22 dod packages I could not find any log messages related to the Project/repo in which these packages are or any other information regarding the packages it cannot download. I can see that some projects are already building for Leap_42.1, but it is not in the checkboxes on Repositories tab on OBS project page, and in advanced repo UI there are so many of them that it is quite confusing. [opensuse-buildservice] Denying source access?

Hello all, I need to restrict source access in a few packages. I found out about the “<sourceaccess><disable/></sourceaccess>” tags, but whenever I try to edit a package, either via the WebUI or via “osc meta pkg -e”, I get a permission error: BuildService API error: change_package_protection_level (403) admin rights are required to raise the protection level of a package. However, I do have all permissions for the package. I even tried as Admin with the same results. Any ideas? Hi there, I'm trying to upgrade to OBS 2.7, and I need to migrate the DB. The instructions (from https://github.com/openSUSE/open-build-service/blob/master/dist/README.UPDA…) tell my to run "RAILS_ENV="production" rails.ruby2.3 db:migrate" However, I get an 'Error: Command 'db:migrate' not recognized' Am I doing something wrong? [opensuse-buildservice] Update CentOS/SL to 7.2

Good Morning, Would it be possible to have the CentOS/Scientific images updated to 7.2? I've attempted to work around needing this by building dependencies myself, but it seems RedHat have bumped the minimum version requirements in a lot of packages this time around. I'm building a package with some enhancements (freeradius) which requires Samba 4.2, however this requires an updated version of initscripts, which requires an updated version of systemd, which requires an updated version of kmod, which requires an updated version of dracut... I've not yet found the end of the chain. Hello, recently a slew of question marks started appearing in OBS, next to build status, and in searching for the reason, i came upon the original bug report and the PR that introduced the question marks: https://github.com/openSUSE/open-build-service/issues/672 https://github.com/openSUSE/open-build-service/pull/2075 The feature seems appropriate for the small "build results" table on the overview, but not so much for monitor. The gist of my argument is that the icons take up space ;) On projects with many repositories, monitor pages are already absurdly wide. These icons are making it significantly wider, while not adding much in the way of information: For one, I don't need to see an explanation for each and every "succeeded". And for two, this is precisely the only page that has a dedicated Legend section. Furthermore, you only need to see the help text very rarely. As you get more proficient with the buildservice, you will know what the states mean. (I would actually suggest replacing the words with icons on the monitor page. At the moment, the width of the page is defined by the header texts (repo names, architecture names), but maybe something could be done about that as well? Writing it vertically, perhaps?) In conclusion, can we please remove the question marks from the monitor page? I'll be happy to send a PR for this. regards m.

Hi, it should be noted the in project Base:System there is a new bash 4.4 together a new (lib)readline 7.0. That last one requires a boot strap of any project and/or distribution based bash 4.4. I'm not sure of the autosubmit bot will add the correct prerequire to the projects configuration, though ? I just submitted https://github.com/keybase/keybase-issues/issues/2569 to try to encourage the keybase folks to work with us to package keybase properly for openSUSE, and while I was at it, I thought it would be worth trying to persuade them to use OBS to package for multiple distributions. This raised the question - which distributions can OBS currently build for? I was slightly disappointed to find this question unanswered by http://openbuildservice.org/about/ even though it refers to "21 base distributions on 6 architectures". Some further googling led to: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_supported_build_targets which lists 5 *families* of distributions (or a few more, if you count openSUSE/SLE and Fedora/RHEL/CentOS as different families), spanning 25 different release versions. It also says: The OBS api also provides a list of available distributions: https://api.opensuse.org/distributions but this URL yields a 404, despite it being documented as a valid API call: https://build.opensuse.org/apidocs/#8 So the inevitable follow-on questions are: - What is a "base distribution"? - Which of these two claims about the number of supported distributions is accurate? If neither, then what's the truth? - Why is this API call returning a 404? Hi, I have run into this a couple of times recently. For example http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/python/SLE_12_S… for the file python-oauthlib-0.7.2-26.2.noarch.rpm sends me to http://opensuse.c3sl.ufpr.br/repositories/devel:/languages:/python/SLE_12_S… which in turn produces a "Not Found". Shouldn't the algorithm that does the "redirect to mirror" logic also keep track of the files that the mirror has and then find a different mirror if a specific file does not exist on a given target? Hi all, I'm trying to get a rubygem to build against a specific ruby version (ruby20) - even if the native ruby version of the distribution is different: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:tdoerges:ruby20/rubygem-wxruby A package with ruby20 is present in the project and builds fine for all distributions (https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:tdoerges:ruby20/ruby20) However, when trying to build the rubygem for openSUSE 13.2, ruby 2.1 (native to 13.2) is always preferred over ruby20. ruby20 will be installed but ignored otherwise. I've tried Requires/BuildRequires and Conflicts/BuildConflicts in the spec: https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/home:tdoerges:ruby20/rubygem-w… BuildConflicts doesn't seem to work (something for Redhat only?) and the other options didn't get the trick done. Hi all, I need help with the extending of the validity of a project's signkey. As far as I know the signkeys will be automatically extended, when they reach their expiry time. I now have several projects, where the repo will not get published. I checked deeper and found the signkey of the project expired. osc signkey --extend terminates with Server returned an error: HTTP Error 400: Bad Request /usr/bin/sign: 256 a closer look in src_server.log shows an additional line self-sig is not made with sha1 Now my call for help: How do I extend the key's validity? Hi all, I'm trying to get a rubygem to build and package for Leap 42.2 and Tumbleweed. Everything works fine for openSUSE 13.1 and 13.2, i.e. I get the desired RPMs. Packaging, however, doesn't work for Leap 42.2 and Tumbleweed and I'm unsure what's actually causing the problem. The project can be found here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:tdoerges/rubygem-wxruby The failures occur in %install and seem to be identical for Leap 42.2 and Tumbleweed. %gem_install is called which in turn invokes "/usr/bin/gem.ruby2.[12] install ..." Hello all, I'm currently porting a metric ton of NodeJS packages on my home directory: http://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home: emendonca:nodejs And I'm getting some weird unresolved dependencies on my "electron" package, like "nothing provides npm(inquirer) < 0.13.0 required by nodejs-eslint". Yes, lower than. My corresponding nodejs-inquirer package provides version 1.1.3. My corresponding nodejs-eslint package requires npm(inquirer) >= 0.12.0. Hi guys I trying to package a pretty big application... I was getting some bad headers size errors under the build, that I got rid of by splitting up into smaller sub-packages... Hi, I investigated flatpak and OSTree. The objective is to integrate flatpak builds into OBS. Here is what I have: - a working Runtime (Leap 42.1) - a working SDK (Leap 42.1) Both are based on the work of Frederic's last hackweek project. It just needed a little fixing and tweaking. SDK and Runtime are stored in an OSTree. OSTree is a git inspired content-addressed versioning filesystem. (https://developer.gnome.org/ostree/2014.4/) I also managed to build a screen flatpak application with the SDK and was able to run it with the openSUSE Runtime. The build is controlled by a manifest file which is in JSON. It contains the global options like app-id, used runtime, used sdk and the modules that are needed. The modules are build sequential. Each module has options itself (like name and build-options) and the sources. Sources can be archives, git repos, bzr sources, files, scripts, shell commands and patches. The application that was built is put into an OSTree repository defined by the flatpak-builder call. Flatpak uses namespaces and cgroups to isolate the application from the operating system. For the interaction between the application and the operating system D-Bus is used. A few limitations / thoughts: - The user needs to install the application *AND* the runtime. Which means we have to provide the runtime too. (OSTree provided in rpm?) - flatpak was/is designed to fit graphical desktop applications. So providing daemons and deliver service files will not work. In the past weeks I learned a lot about flatpak/OSTree and how to use it. But there is still a way to go. I have forked the repository from Frederic and pushed my work in there. You find the github repository here: https://github.com/lethliel/opensuse-flatpak-runtime Under examples/ you will find the working screen manifest. There is also a more complex manifest example. (Which fails at module glib2; source "shell". I don't know why) But it gives an overview of the layout and sources that are possible. If you get it to run, please feel free to contribute to my git repository. At the moment I don't have the time to work on this any further and I wanted to share the progress with the community. Hi, having an own obs instance (SLES 11 SP3, obs 2.6.10) Now I want to hear your opinion on how to get an obs 2.7.x on SLES 12 SP1 Would you prefer a zypper dup (not sure if it is possible with a SLES 11 SP3 or if I need SP4 first) Or if I should setup a fresh box with SLES 12 SP1 with obs 2.6.10 ... migrate database and sync /srv/obs ...
