[opensuse-buildservice] Need help on bootstrapping a new OBS (v2.5.4) server from scratch!

Hi there, I need to setup our own OBS server (without internet access) for the architectures Intel "x86_64" and ARM "armv5tel". I am using the OBS Appliance v2.5.4.3 downloaded from: http://openbuildservice.org/download/ running as a VM in VirtualBox having 3 discs: sda1 root 97GiB / sda2 swap 2GiB swap sdb1 LVM 25GiB vg:OBS:cache /var/cache/obs/worker rest vg:OBS:worker_{root,swap}_[1..8] /var/cache/obs/worker/root_[1..8] sdc1 LVM 300 GiB vg:data:server /srv/obs I have tried to make use of the following recipes to get such a stand-alone OBS server up and running, but so far it has all been in vain (have tried multiple times, but have not even been able to get a reproducible result each time so far): 1. From Open Build Service documentation, Chapter 5 Boot Strapping: http://openbuildservice.org/help/manuals/obs-best-practices/cha.obs.best-pr… 2. From the reference made in Chap. 5: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_private_instance_boot_strappi… 3. From the "README.SETUP" found in the source repository of OBS: https://github.com/openSUSE/open-build-service/blob/2.5/dist/README.SETUP The recipes are either completely outdated (using references to non-existing projects / domains (1 and 2)) or either referring to features in OBS that are not available anymore (in OBS v2.5) or outdated versions of OBS altogether (2 and 3)! E.g. the instructions described in "README.SETUP" in chapter 6 simply cannot work anymore in OBS v2.5, because port 81 is not available anymore, just to mention one among other things. So, what does one have to do, to bootstrap an OBS v2.5.4 server for the Intel "x86_64" and ARM "armv5tel" architectures from scratch? For the bootstrapping itself, I would be able to have internet access, if need be, but after having gotten the OBS server fully bootstrapped, it must be able to continue to work without any internet access. [opensuse-buildservice] slightly confused

Hi list, Please bear with me if asking newby questions. I've been using the results of the OBS for many years, but i founf myself needing some packages that were not updated for quite some time. Easiest way might be pinging on factory list, but I presume doing-it-yourself might be considered a better option. I don't have the impression anyone else might benefit from it, but when succeeding i will learn a lot. My first attempt was branching off an existing (and known working) package. To be able to build locally i needed libpcsc-devel, so i branched security:/chipcard/pcsc-lite. I defined build-targets OS12.2, OS12.3, OS13.1 OS_factory and SLES11SP3, which all do exists. How come that SLES11SP3 failed with "unresolvable" ? I thought i branched off a working config? Same happens with openvpn (branched from network:/vpn/ ) One might think that "some people" might not be allowed to build for sles, but when i branche off security:/chipcard/opensc the build works OK, also for SLES. So before doing something useful, THE OBS got me puzzling here already. Any enlightments? [opensuse-buildservice] Memory requirements of build jobs

Hey there. So, I've been experiencing intermittent build failures due to memory exhaustion. I'm thinking I should perhaps add a constraints file, but is there a way to find out how much memory the build requires in that build node? It's dependant on many things, architecture and gcc version and number of parallel jobs at least, so it doesn't seem to match the requirements on my machines (I could always build just fine with 2G for instance). [opensuse-buildservice] Migrating packages from api.opensuse.org to local obs

I want to migrate some packages from a home project on build.opensuse.org to a local obs and keeping the build numbers. By using osc copypac the local obs starts with revision 1. Is there a way to copy all revisions or to modify the next build number ? [opensuse-buildservice] how to check for debug build?

osc build has two knobs --disable-debuginfo and --debuginfo. How can I check in the spec file which mode is currently enabled? https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:aljex/vsftpd Ignore the 3 oldest targets that failed because of unresolvables. Bizarrely, package succeeded in 10.3 x86_64 yet failed in 10.3 i586, and the error was while still setting up the vm: [ 12s] mkswap: error while loading shared libraries: libuuid.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory The other failing target is 11.0 both i586 and x86_64 getbinaries: missing packages: libuuid Is there something going on with the build environment just at the moment?
