I wanted to install http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/11.4:/Contrib/standard/… and couldn't, so asked about the problem in http://lists.rosenauer.org/pipermail/evergreen/2013-September/001278.html It turns out the problem's solution was to enable http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/perl/openSUSE_1… Is something not broken somewhere that a BS package in *standard* built for an "out of support" release requires some packages that exist only as devel packages? Shutter pulled in 28 dependencies, many of which were available only after enabling http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/perl/openSUSE_1… Is this going to happen again if I want to install shutter everywhere, 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, 13.1....? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." [opensuse-buildservice] Mono 3.2.1 1-Click Install

Hello, the version of Mono currently available for OpenSuSE 12.3 (x86_64) is still 3.0.4. As it doesn't seem to support .NET 4.0 (at least not completely), I would like to upgrade to the up-to-date 3.2.1. However, 3.0.4 seems to be the last version hosted on software.opensuse.org. The Mono repo features an even older version, 2.10. Of course there are already OpenSuSE RPMs containing version 3.2.1 found on rpm.pbone.net, but I would have to install quite a bunch (> 20) of RPMs one after the other. So: Will Mono 3.2.1 (or even 3.2.2, once it gets final) be added to one of the openSuSE repos so that I can upgrade it by using 1-Click-install? Thank you for any useful hints. [opensuse-buildservice] Installing OBS 2.4 via RPM

Ok I have done a clean install of OBS2.4 on opensuse 12.1. I have followed the instructions here https://github.com/openSUSE/open-build-service/blob/2.4/dist/README.SETUP And I have got access to the webui but do not seem to get access to the api font end I just get the about page. The main issue at the moment is that I cannot login to the webui with Admin user with the usual password and I cannot create a new user either. [opensuse-buildservice] Updating from 2.3 to 2.4.

I could do with some help resolving these issues when updating from 2.3 to 2.4 using the OBS repo http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/OBS:/Server:/2.4/openSUSE_12.1/x8…. [opensuse-buildservice] Building with osc/kvm - failing for me... yet again

Hi Back in June last year had the same issue, now on openSUSE 12.3 it's yet again failing building for me with the following command; "env" "rootfstype=ext3" "mkinitrd" "-d" "/dev/null" "-m" "ext3 ext4 btrfs reiserfs binfmt_misc virtio_pci virtio_blk" "-k" "/boot/vmlinuz" "-i" "/boot/initrd-3.7.10-1.16-desktop-virtio" Kernel image: /boot/vmlinuz Initrd image: /boot/initrd-3.7.10-1.16-desktop-virtio KMS drivers: i915 Could not find the filesystem type for root device /dev/null Currently available -d parameters are: Block devices /dev/<device> NFS <server>:<path> URL <protocol>://<path> There was an error generating the initrd (1) Yet on SLED 11 SP3 with uefi/secure boot (different machine HP 2000 AMD cpu and radeon) it works as expected? This machine is a HP ProBook 4430s with qemu-kvm working to run up an iso image etc... I'm also running btrfs on both systems. [opensuse-buildservice] CMake and OBS

Hi, Are there any best known methods to package CMake based projects using the open build service ? Specifically what I am looking forward to is a simplified way of: 1) Installing all the libraries that CMake generates to /usr/lib (or) /opt/<company>/lib 2) Installing all the binaries that CMake generates to /usr/bin (or) /opt/<company>/bin 3) Populate BuildRequires: based on the find_package inside the CMakeLists.txt( 4) Building only a small subset of all the targets supported by the CMake file in a project. To explain on this point. Assume that my project has 10 targets and I need only 5 targets (3 binaries and 2 libraries that they depend) to be shipped to the users. So, I want a way to generate a tarball with only these 3 binaries and their dependencies (2 libraries in our case), which can be used in a build-service project. If I am not using OBS for distributing the binaries, I can easily build the two binary targets alone and can ship the resultant binaries. But if I want to use CMake what is the best way for achieving this instead of creating a tarball with the sources for all the 10 targets ? I googled around a bit before asking here but could not find any relevant information. I see that CMake is used heavily in KDE and so some of the openSUSE packagers would have run into similar requirements and wanted to find out the best practices for using CMake in OBS. Thanks. [opensuse-buildservice] Missing instructions for installing Ubuntu packages

Dear all, some users reported to me that the instructions for Ubuntu packages are missing. If you take a look at this page: http://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home:EmmeG:LARAL&package… you'll see that the Ubuntu is reported as an unknown operating system and the instructions for download and install the packages are not shown. :-( Is it possible to fix that problem ?? I just tried to reply on comment [1], but when I hit "Add reply" button it gives me "404 File not found" error page. Do threading comments work already or it's just me? Hello All, I've noticed that you can now add a comment to SR's in OBS but whenever I try to add reply to one I get a 404 https://build.opensuse.org/request/comments. Why is this?
