But also the distribuition default target list has been updated. This release is most important for cross build support. I discovered: dist/obs-server.spec but it have: Version: 2.3.95_27_gc802e5a While latest stable version is 2.4.3-6.1. [opensuse-buildservice] Giving abuild user a 2nd group?

Hi *, in the testsuite of the coreutils package, several tests are skipped because the 'abuild' user is only member of 1 group while these tests require the membership in at least 2 groups. I want to enhance the test coverage of that basic package. Is there a way to tell OBS to add 'abuild' to a 2nd group? Hi, I'm writing some simple user helper scripts. One of it need to do for example a 'osc copypac origproject package newproject'. I did this with a function: def obs_copypac(org, pkg, new): cmdline = "osc copypac -e %s %s %s" % (org, pkg, new) dbg_print( "cmdline: %s" % cmdline ) p = Popen(cmdline, shell=True, stdout=PIPE, stderr=PIPE) (stdout, stderr) = p.communicate() rc = p.returncode dbg_print( "osc copypac output: %s" % stdout ) if rc: print( osc copypac error: %s" % stderr return rc Works as expected. Then I remembered that osc itself was written in Python as well, so it should be better to call the python stuff directly. I looked at the osc-wrapper.py and was thinking that it should be easy to do. Simple give the commandline.Osc() call the arguments for the osc command like osccli = commandline.Osc("copypac","-e", org, pkg, new) r = babysitter.run(osccli) But this does not work, it seems the arguments are ignored, I get always the osc help page (same as running osc with no arguments). Hi guys, If you download the obs-server.x86_64-2.4.4-Build1.1-vmx.tar.bz2 file from: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/OBS:/Server:/2.4/images/ Inside there's a raw image instead of a vmx or vmdk. Hi, at Packman we have the problem that a package with build job constraints remains indefinetly in scheduled state although the memory constraints should be satisfied by at least some build hosts. What could be the problem or how can we further diagnose this? Hi, package obs-server has: BuildRequires: perl-BSSolv but BSSolv is only provided by obs-server itself. While there exist: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Tools/perl-BSSolv It contains old BSSolv linked against old libsolv. I have questions: 1) why is BSSolv.pm bundled in obs-server in first place and why it is not just simply required and used from standard path? 2) Where is ultimate upstream for perl-BSSolv? Hi, 'osc rdelete project -r -f' do not delete everything but, rather, copy some stuff to the "_deleted" project directory and keep bazillions of files related to that project under: * ./trees/ * ./repos/.../.../... * /repos_sync/ We run obs-server-2.3.7-3.5 ( appliance ) and osc-0.134.1-2.4.1. Questions: - obs bug ? osc bug ? Known bug ? If so, is it fixed ? - Didn't find any documentation on "_deleted" projects, A pointer would appreciated. I didn't find anything on the webui or "bs_admin" to manage that. I only found "os ls -D" which does not help much. Meanwhile , I am quite tempted to: find /srv/obs | grep "deleted project" | xargs -n1 rm -rf Any advise against this "Big Hammer" ? Hello folks, So, here is my GSoC 2013 update for the week ending on 26/07/2013 1. What have I done last week? Last week I was at oSC13. So couldnt get a lot of coding done but I got a great opportunity to meet with my mentor (Henne) and other members of OBS (Adrian) face-2-face to discuss my pull request in detail and hash out a couple of other things. 2. What am I'm doing this week By the end of the week, midterm evaluations need to be submitted so I will prepare my report. I want to merge to the upstream repo to be able to push to the production server and lastly try to write some more test suites for both [api] and [webui]. It's really no job of a distribution to worry about how users use the software inside. I mean, if it was a botnet, whose only discernible purpose is inherently illegal, maybe (and just maybe). But password cracking software exists for many reasons other than to crack someone else's password. And even if not, until someone legally complains, and somehow the distribution is forced to remove it, I see no point in banning any software. If it was just the potential for illegal use, you'd also ban cp, since it can be used to copy copyrighted content, and also gimp, since it can be used to edit content licensed under no-derivatives, and whatever other software you could imagine was harmless, which can most certainly be used for some illegal purpose. Not to mention that password cracking, in my IANAL view (because IANAL), isn't illegal at all. At least in my jurisdiction. Hi, while I have a lot of question recently, I realized I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Miroslav Suchy (shorten as Mirek). I work for Red Hat and I want to get OBS-server into Fedora. We (as Fedora) may later use OBS (or not), but that is not decided yet. But getting OBS into Fedora is first step. So I am now trying to get OBS dependencies into Fedora. Later OBS itself. And even later contribute with some features, which will be needed for Fedora. So please be patient with me. Hi, I have recently upgraded my desktop from 12.1 to 12.3 so the problem could be related to this event. Nevertheless the question is why the completion for osc (osc.sh) is in /etc/profile.d while most other completions are in /etc/bash_completion.d/ directory For the later I do not need to do anything but for osc I have to source. Hello, We have our own private OBS 2.3.6 instance. I have a project which has two architectures which are i586 and armv7l. I have a cross tool package and configure ExportFilter in project conf like this "ExportFilter: \.armv7l\.rpm$ armv7l" Suppose the cross tool package is 'a' and the result rpms are a.i586.rpm, cross-a.armv7l.rpm and cross-a.armv7hl.rpm. After package 'a' has been built, I have cross-a.rpm in 'armv7l/:full' and the cross tool is available for armv7l repository. But If I disable and wipe the package 'a' from i586 arch, the cross-a package is still available for armv7l repository. I observed that the import event handling code in scheduler had some hole. The i586 scheduler sent import event along with 'replaced.xml' which has the list of packages with 'id'. When armv7l scheduler got the event, it created oldrepo and the key was the just name of rpm plus '.rpm'. In this case the oldrepo had only one entry which was cross-a.armv7hl.rpm because the keys from two packages would be same and cross-a.armv7hl.rpm overwrote cross-a.armv7l.rpm. When scheduler tried to delete imported package from armv7l/:full, it compared 'id' of package. But it was different in this case. because the package in :full was cross-a.armv7l.rpm but the compared 'id' was from cross-a.armv7hl.rpm. Hello, When I used obs_admin --clone-repository, the ':repoinfo' file in source repository was overwritten by destination repository. I ran something like 'obs_admin --clone-repository A a B b'. the :repoinfo in B/b is hardlinked to A/a/:repoinfo. and :repoinfo in B/b is updated with the name of repository 'b'. And it causes A/a/:repoinfo changes. The :repoinfo itself has the name of repository in it. I think the :repoinfo shouldn't be hard linked. Thanks and regards. Hey guys, I'm trying to install OBS to a VM, everything installs without a problem, but when it gets to the login part, I'm stuck, I have no username/password for it and when I go to http://obsserver:5252 all I get is a message about XML, so I can't login that way either. Is there any documentation about how to install it? Hi all, ( plinnell on IRC suggested me to post my question here instead of the IRC forum. ) "service log" are not available, at least intuitively, using an "osc" interface. At SGI, we are in the process of moving to OBS. We exclusively use "_service" interface to pull source ( and metadata files ) from git repos. So, production-wise, troubleshooting "failed builds" requires capturing the "service" logs as well as the proper usual chroot "build" logs. This is crucial for us. I attempted to simply modify bs_service to essentially to: if (!open(SERVICE, '-|')) { + open(STDOUT, "| tee -a _service_log"); open(STDERR, ">&STDOUT"); The above works ( I can "osc cat ..." ) but only when all the _service steps exit 0 ! Useful but not quite :) So, the question: is there an osc method to unconditionally capture the already captured _service_error file and/or the _service_log ? Simply said, capture the latest _service log, regardless if it is a success or a failure; that's the point. The "osc api" method are not easy to "discover", to be honest. Any help, hints, guidance appreciated. Hi everyone, currently, the OBS (website) has a method to show that there are BuildRequires missing for a specific package (i.e. the red "unresolvable" error). Is there a way to check if a repository (possible also incl. the repo it builds against) is also *publishing* all *runtime* dependencies of the published packages? I.e. if the repo plus its parent repos provides all packages that are required at runtime/installation? If not, I would add this as an OBS feature request. It would also be nice to have a dependency graph showing Build-/Requires relationsships between all packages in a repo (and possibly to the repos it builds against). Such a feature would ease the search for "zombie" packages in large repos, which once were needed as BuildRequires, but may be not needed anymore and thus could be deleted. Heya, Jan from ownCloud here. We had some requests for an ownCloud client for Ubuntu/Debian on ARM architecture. See for example here: https://github.com/owncloud/mirall/issues/338 Now that I have the ARM Chromebook myself and Ubuntu on it, I need it as well. Danimo (one of our client devs) said that I need to ask you folks if it’s possible to add that to OBS. OpenSUSE on ARM is already in for example. Hope this is the right channel to ask. [opensuse-buildservice] build loop without result and error

Hi, the "libreoffice" package in the "LibreOffice:Unstable" project and "openSUSE_12.3 x86_64" distro has been in some strange build loop for last few days. I am not sure what the problem is. I checked it several time. The status always was "building". The log was "only" few hours long => the build was automatically restarted several times. I wonder why. I do not see any build error and local build works. The i586 libreoffice package and x86_64 help packages have been built 7 days ago => it should not be caused by another commits in the openSUSE_12.3 or LibreOffice:Unstable repo. Do you have any idea, please? Do some errors trigger automatic rebuild? Is there any build time out? I think that it might help to force build on some more powerful hosts with more CPUs and more memory. Is it possible, please?
