Hi,
I'd like to have particular packages to source their BuildRequires from
another repository.
For example.
home:rudi_m:devel-snap/dateutils
should resolve gcc46 from
devel:gcc
if build is against openSUSE_11.4
Is this possible somehow or can I only add paths to the whole prj
config?
BTW where to find a documentation about all possible attributes for
buildservice project/package metadata?
cu,
Rudi

Hi,
seems that at some time after thursday, qtwebkit was removed from
K:R:46 *and* K:R:47... therefor generating TONS of build errors and
dependency problems...
could that be reverted please?
preferrably soon?
thanks,
MH

Hello.
I build a package against openSUSE:11.4:Update but OBS installs build
environment from openSUSE:11.4.

Hi,
as discussed with Rudi, we merged osc and obs-service source validator into
one package.
The upcomming osc will use them just over the services.
I merged this as first git repo into github.com. You can clone with
git clone git@github.com:openSUSE/obs-service-source_validator.git
You may need to create an account at github first and tell Sascha or me
your account name for push permissions.
The new package builds in
osc co openSUSE:Tools:Unstable/obs-service-source_validator
atm.
This will go out together with a new osc as maintainenance update ASAP.
thanks

Hello everyone,
as announced recently, we're slowly moving to Github, if you wanna join the
fun early on but already have an OBS repository clone, it is rather simple.
Just change the respective lines in$OBS-GIT-CLONE/.git/config to the
following:
[remote "origin"]
url = git://github.com/openSUSE/open-build-service.git
fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/github/*
As Github is so much better for merge requests, we want more of them. Thus, if
you want to contribute to OBS, fork it on Github, commit to your personal
clone and do merge requests. Much like on Gitorious before, but way more
comfortable. Ah yes, you need a Github account if you don't have one yet ;-)

Hi;
Currently SLE targets do not support %make_install which does the same
as %makeinstall but more portable. Can we change SLE* prjconf to add a
define for %make_install please?
Regards.

Hello everyone,
several OBS developers are currently thinking about moving our code from
Gitorious to Github. During the last months, Gitorious showed many stability
issues (including today, when they lost SSH keys). We believe that Github has
countless advantages:
* The URL is shorter
* Has way better availability
* E-mail notifications actually work
* Requests can be merged in the browser
* Better support for server-side commit hooks
* Half of the openSUSE project (that used to be on Gitorious) is already there
* OBS is there too (mirrored only): https://github.com/openSUSE/Open-Build-
Service
* It is actively developed
To be complete, Gitorious also has advantages:
* It's free software
It should be mentioned that we (as in adrian, coolo and me) don't care at all
about the latter point as Github is really Open Source friendly. However, if
you see issues in the above proposal please speak up, otherwise we may simply
move in the next days. Gitorious will either be dropped completely or remain
as a read-only mirror...

Hi all,
I found some errors in de configurations of the OBS 2.3 server.
I've attached the corrected files and the patches.
It's related to:
Documentation: /usr/share/doc/packages/obs-api/README.SETUP
Apache vhosts configuration: /etc/apache2/vhosts.d/obs.conf
I've added the api port 81 connection as a quick fix and as the internal
doesn't really need to be encrypted.
Should I create a bug report for this?
Regards,
Joop.
Hi!
Since yesterday some PHP-packages are failing to build for openSUSE_Factory. The obly message is:
"getbinaries: missing packages: libattr"
Example: osc remotebuildlog server:php:applications php5-pear-pel openSUSE_Factory i586 | less
Best regards,
Johannes
