Hi,
We have a local OBS (2.0.6-5.1). I've imported some src.rpms in a project and would now like to update these packages to newer versions of the rpms, which have been downloaded.
Example:
I had initially imported zsh-4.3.10-4.72 using 'osc importsrcpkg /path/to/zsh-4.3.10-4.72.src.rpm'
Would now like to bring in a newer version of zsh-4.3.10-4.94
# osc --version
0.129
Do I use importsrcpkg or some other mechanism to achieve this?
Thanks,
Mal

Looking at the following repo URL
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/eGroupWare/Debian_5.0/
you can see the current source files are version 1.8.001.20100920, while
clicking on package directory "all":
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/eGroupWare/Debian_5.0/all/
Gives only the old 20100916 packages.
The monitor shows all builds as succeeded:
https://build.opensuse.org/project/monitor?project=server:eGroupWare
Same is true for the Ubuntu repos.
Any ideas or know problems with the build service?
Thanks for helping anyway :-)

Hello,
I have created a git_pull source service to download latest code from git repository to obs server, and tar them if updated.
With git_pull service, when you create a package whose code is hosted in git repository, for example, http://gitorious.org/libzip/libzip.
You need not create/upload a tar or patch file each time you make a code change.
What you just need to do is ?
After you creating a package on obs, run --
1. osc add http://git.gitorious.org/libzip/libzip.git
2. osc ci
After you making a code change and a successful git push
3. osc remoteservice <obs_project> libzip
Code change for this feature --
1. osc client support for git_pull
http://gitorious.org/opensuse/brookhongs-osc/commit/f344ff882572db6b7b9e245…
2. git_pull source service
http://gitorious.org/opensuse/brookhongs-osc/commit/3e8872b925ef168af1e2808…
What is the drawback of this solution?
It will create a local git repository on obs server for each package that activates the git_pull service, and this will increase usage of storage on obs server.

Hi there,
I'm getting this error:
reqesting http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.3/repo/oss/suse/repodata/repom…
failed: 404 Not Found
when I try to use this:
export SUSE_VER=11.3; \
export BUILD_DIST=sl${SUSE_VER}; \
mount /var/iso_images/openSUSE-${SUSE_VER}-DVD-i586.iso.sl; \
build --verify --root /var/builds/${SUSE_VER}0 \
--rpms /mnt/iso_images/suse${SUSE_VER}_x86 \
--repo http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/${SUSE_VER}/repo/oss/suse/ \
--repo http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/database/openSUSE_${SUSE_… \
php5.spec
Basically, the repodata directory doesn't exist for 11.3. I've checked
several major mirrors in France, Germany and UK.
I need to do a specific build of php for x86.
Has build been deprecated?
What alternatives are there?

Hi,
Is there a way to get a latest/permanent link to the built RPMs in the
repository that will not change even if the version/release of the
package changes?

hi all,
I just (ok, few weeks ago) discovered that there is oracle instant
client rpm in opensuse build service. I'd like to say: hooray!
But - is it officially allowed to use it? I mean - there were
discussions in mailing list about it without any conclusion, except
that it's potentially dangerous. There are requests for it in openfate
without any official response. Etc.
Now I'm using my personal obs instance to provide oracle related
opensource sw (http://download.yarpen.cz) and I'd like to know if it's
fine to use official OBS in this case? Heh, It would save my money ;)
thanks,

JFYI,
we have updated the OBS roadmap in agreement with our friends at MeeGo.
In short, the next release 2.1 will go into beta next week and will have
the improved source handling features as head line.
The former known 2.2 release, which focuses on maintenance support will be
named 2.3 (still planned for end of this year).
The new 2.2 release will complete the read access protection support in
between. 2.1 will just have read access control for sources.
The wiki roadmap page is updated at
http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_Roadmap
Fate feature page will get also updated soon:
