This time it's build09 that keeps failing for me with either
xm create -c /var/run/bsworker_4/build/xen.conf name=build:root_4 memory=350 disk=file:/abuild/root_4/root,hda1,w disk=file:/abuild/root_4/swap,hda2,w extra=init=/.build/build panic=1 console=ttyS0
<nothing else>
or
xm create -c /var/run/bsworker_4/build/xen.conf name=build:root_4 memory=350 disk=file:/abuild/root_4/root,hda1,w disk=file:/abuild/root_4/swap,hda2,w extra=init=/.build/build panic=1 console=ttyS0
Error: Device 769 (vbd) could not be connected.
File /abuild/root_4/root is loopback-mounted through /dev/loop0,

I'm not sure about the answer, but I think anyone in the project can remove
others, and being the first maintainer doesn't mean he is "untouchable" heh.
Please someone with more experience confirm this...

First you will (must) have to ask for permission, and second I'm not sure
whether you have permissions to do that by yourself :-P

While OBS automatically creates Packages[.gz] files for Debian, it looks
like it fails to pay attention to the fact that there can be both i386
and amd64 versions for the same package name. Currently, it just lists
*one* of them (picking randomly, depending on which one builds first?)
in the Packages file:
Package: foo
Architecture: amd64
Filename: ./amd64/foo_1.0-1_amd64.deb
Package: bar
Architecture: i386
Filename: ./i386/bar_1.0-1_i386.deb
(while there's also foo for i386 and bar for amd64 -- you get the idea).
See
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/net-snmp/Debian_Etch/Packages
for a real-world example.
Am I missing something here? If not, is there a way to make the
repository usable for Debian users again other than turning off amd64
builds?
Cheers,
Thomas

Hello,
I'm just joined the build service and obviously do miss some simple
things. In particular I can't find any help on how to join some
project.
For example, I'd like to join the SQLAlchemy project to move it to the
next stable version of the SQLAlchemy package
(https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=python-sqlalchemy&project=d…).
There are seven people are listed on the project page but the guy who
is mentioned as the rpm author
in the spec-file is not among them. So what are my options
- e-mail rpm spec file author?
- email to the first guy on the list from the project page?
- e-mail all of them?
- go ahead and do the changes in the package?
Please help,
Mikhail

Hi,
I switched a package to aggregate from another project.
For some reason almost all targets show "blocked" for that package
currently (it works for Factory though). The package in the original
project are correctly built though.
Is there a problem in OBS?
Anything wrong in my project/package config?
It's the package mozilla-nspr in mozilla:beta which should be aggregated
from mozilla.
Thanks,
Wolfgang

Hello,
in the discussion about possible Gnome client features, we came
to the possibility of supporting multiple BS instances. Since we want
to stay compatible with osc, I was wondering does osc supports
multiple users (for example, one user per BS instance).
Thanks for your help.

Michal Vyskocil has requested a new mailing list around Java topics. You can
subscribe to it by sending a mail to
opensuse-java+subscribe(a)opensuse.org
This nicely fits our other Java changes we did these days:
Debian and Ubuntu based Java buildings are possible now
=======================================================
It was not possible so far to build Java based packages for Debian or Ubuntu,
because Java lives there in non-free or Multiverse repositories. We have
imported these as Debian:Etch:NonFree or Ubuntu:*:Multiverse projects to
offer java builds in future.
We would like to thank Carsten Höger from Open-Xchange for his help and the
needed java preinit package. A nice example for using Java on deb based
distributions is the server:OX:snapshot project.
openSUSE:Factory is using open source Java from openJDK6 now
============================================================
We switched to openJDK6 as default Java to be able to deliver a complete open
source Factory distribution including Java. This is currently not a final
decision, just a test approach to evaluate the situation. This affects also
everybody who builds a Java package for Factory using the
generic “BuildRequires: java-devel”, openJDK6 will be used in this case as a
Java environment. A drawback is the increased bootstrap time for Java in
Factory atm, increasing the time for a complete Factory rebuild to several
days. We are working hard to avoid this again in future.

Hi,
I am just experimenting with building kernel module packages on the build
server.
While this seems to work quite well for rpm based kmps's
using %suse_kernel_module_package in the spec file I am struggling a bit with
kernel modules for .deb's.
Is there any example package on the build server, using module-assistant or
make-kpkg type of mechanics, and the corresponding 'rules' targets?
many thanks
Chris
