Hi all, I am very happy, that I can find the new Subversion Release at the BuildService, but why can I find only the newest Version (1.4.0)? Isn´t there an opinion to get older Version from there? I need the Version before 1.4.0 (1.3.2) for SLES9. [opensuse-buildservice] ANN: osc local build support

Hi, the latest osc package (0.7) in openSUSE:Tools has support for local builds. usage: 1. osc build <platform> <arch> <specfile> [--clean|--noinit] 2. BUILD_DIST=... osc build <specfile> [--clean|--noinit] where BUILD_DIST equals <platform>-<arch> When you call it for the first time, it will tell you how to add some configuration to ~/.oscrc. You may want to configure sudo with option NOPASSWD for /usr/bin/build and set su-wrapper to 'sudo' in .oscrc. Let me know how it works you. I think everybody appreciates your work for openSUSE. I was especially willing to package UFO:AI, but as I am absolutely new to it, I was suggested to build 'normal' "configure && make && make install" packages first. While looking around, I was offered Ri-Li (which I don't like to much as a game) and I offered SuperTuxKart (which I love). I for my part missed checking for it's avaiability before suggesting it. So nevertheless, I'll use them for training (or if you could suggest me something else, I'll gladly accept) to get some experiance so I can get on with UFO:AI Dominique

I tried to add plib-devel on the BuildService, and it failed with: expansion error nothing provides plib-devel Dominique

[opensuse-buildservice] Only src.rpm build

Dear buildserver maintainers, I finally started my first project in the buildservice. But only a src.rpm is build. It looks to me like all sections below %prep aren't used. Normally I would expect a line like "Executing(%prep)" after the setup of the build environment. But this doesn't happen. Maybe one can take a look at this. This happens in the package gstreamer-plugins-moodbar in home:d7. Maybe it's just a fault of me because I'm quite new to the buildservice. Regards, Dennis Sieben

That's not completely true: If you have a repository pointing to ftp://mirror.suse.de/pub/SL-Stable/inst-source then your openSUSE get's updated to x.y+1 as soon as it's declared as stable. See: Hi, Maybe I'm on the wrong place for this, but it might be interesting even here: Let's assume the following (I think a not so uncommon scenario): - A user installs a openSuSE Version 10.1 - He changes the installation repositories to something like ftp://mirror.suse.de/pub/SL-Stable/inst-source and adds also ftp://mirror.suse.de/pub/SL-Stable/non-oss-inst-source Now come's one of the trickier parts: The upudate repo is pointing to: ftp://mirror.suse.de/update/10.1 What will happen when openSUSE 10.2 get's the 'stable' Distribution an dwill thus be linked in place of 10.1? ZMD will most probably install many packages from 10.2 (maybe even wished by the user) but the link to the update repo will still point to 10.1. The same problem is with MOST external repos, as most of them also contain the version number in the path. Could there something be implemented to have it point to a URL like: ftp://mirror.suse.de/update /%OSS-VERSION%, thus updating the links upon a relink of the stable tree?
