[opensuse-support] apps piling up in panel

Two or three times recently--as recent as this afternoon--a whole batch of apps, the icons of which live in the panel, or systray, have piled up at the left-hand side. They don't overlap, but they are all to directly the right of the normal (what I consider normal) icons, which are the smiling ball, desktop1, system settings, YaST, Konsole terminal, and Kate. All the other icons --15, plus the time/date, have moved to the left. What is causing this, and how can I make it stop? (I have moved them back a couple of times, but they no longer stay put.) System is OS-TW, up to date as per 1114. (I think it also occurred before this update.) Thanx for any insight--doug

MIDI problem--no sound

(TW) Have a musical keyboard, "Studio 61" by Fatar, which I know works-- I saw it demoed when I bought it--but I have yet to make a sound with it. When I research midi, I get recommends for several different midi apps, all of which seem to assume you have your keyboard working. What must I do to get the instrument to produce musical notes in my speakers? Some futzing around shows the unit plugged into a usb port on the computer called (by lshw) usb3 Audio device E-MU XMidi1X1Tab physical id: 5 bus info: usb@1:5 serial: E-MU-E6-3F0E-07D90A1E-1014A-TAB capabilities: usb-1.10 audio control configuration: driver=snd-usb-audio maxpower=100mA speed=12Mbit/s (Unit is self powered by wall-wart and should not need power from the computer.) high cpu-utilization with apache2 and modsecurity2

Hi there, I have a problem with the mod_security2 module for apache in openSUSE Leap 15.2. After activating the module and mpm-prefork, the CPU-utilization increases in stages until it reaches 100 percent. It doesn't matter whether modsecurity is running in detection-only or blocking mode nor if the core rule set is enabled or not. With the switch to mpm-event it seems to be better. Uitlization is also increasing in peaks but lowering down after a while. But the following errors are showing in the apache error log: *** Error in `/usr/sbin/httpd-event': corrupted size vs. prev_size: 0x00007fd624019d50 *** *** Error in `/usr/sbin/httpd-event': double free or corruption (out): 0x00007fd65001bc70 *** Their going away when I disable the security2 module. I'm suspicious about a bug in the apache2 package and/or the mod_security2 package. installed versions: apache2: 2.4.43-lp152.2.6.1 apache2-event: 2.4.43-lp152.2.9.1 apache2-mod_security2: 2.9.2-lp152.3.7 I'm not sure if this is for a bug report, so here's the question whether someone has similar experiences and/or ideas for a solution. Within this e-mail I would like to inquire, if there is a software project for the use on openSUSE. I've heard e. g. about Jitsi-Meet see here: https://jitsi.org provided at: https://github.com/csett86/jitsi-meet-electron/releases/ Another question is, if there are "hybrid" solutions for the combined use of clients that have different software world bases that are non browser based. Problems Upgrading from Leap 15.1 to 15.2

I'm following the instructions in SDB:System upgrade, using the zypper method. I've performed the preliminary "Make sure you are up to date" steps successfully, but I'm having problems with the actual update step. zypper and YaST can't see the Packman repository

Nextcloud 20 and PHP-FPM problem

On a openSUSE Tumbleweed 20210111 test system I evaluate Nextcloud 20. The problem is that even the test system with only one user and only very few files gets ressource problems. Directly after Nextcloud login (with pm.max_children=10) or some minutes later (with pm.max_children=50), PHP-FPM gets stuck. The Nextcloud browser window is open, but idle. Nextcloud 18 was running fine on the same test system with identical PHP-FPM configuration. Any idea, how I can debug this problem? My main questions are: What are the active PHP-FPM processes doing? Why the active PHP-FPM processes do not get idle after they have done their work?
