Recording BBC radio streams from Firefox

For some years I have been archiving BBC radio programmes using SUSE firefox and Audacity . This worked fine up until 10.3 (I skipped 11.0). I am aware of the issues with RealPlayer for 11.1 but I have been been able to use the RealPlayer generic rpm to access the programmes on both a 32bit and 64 bit install. The problem I find that although I can listen to both live and listen again on the listen again sites in firefox audacity will not record the stream. Using Konquerer it will do so.. I am using Firefox 3.0.6-1-x86_x86_64 I'd be grateful for advice on how to fix this. Microphone not works

Hello Mates, since one week (or 2) my Microphone not worked. Before one week it works good. I can hear Music, and if i spoke into the Microphone, i hear me in the Speakers. But if i start audacity, no input comes to the Program. I'm have trouble with Skype, too. Before one week, i can phone exactly. But if i call the testbot, i can't hear my voice in the bot. I've checked the KMix. Microphone is as "recording" marked in KMix, and the +20db is activated too. I've an Soundcard on Board with Nforce3 chipset, and AC'97 compatibility. I've attached an Report made by alsatroubleshooting. Bluetooth Headsets in Opnesuse 11.1 with alsa and pulseaudio

Hi to All. I had setup my Bluetooth Headsets (Neovoice) using the howto found in the opensuse.org wiki I'm using opensuse 11.1 (up to date) The headsets are paired and working. this is my .asoundrc file pcm.!default { type pulse } ctl.!default { type pulse } pcm.btheadset { type bluetooth device "00:0E:16:02:22:4D" profile voice } ctl.btheadset { type bluetooth } if I type the command arecord -D btheadset -f S16_LE | aplay -D btheadset -f S16_LE I can talk and hear myself in the headset, so seems to work fine. But I'm unable to use with applications like Teamspeak because they expect a device like /dev/dsp or similar. I tried also the commands pactl load-module module-alsa-source device=btheadset and pactl load-module module-alsa-sink device=btheadset like suggested in the howtos, but they segfault my pulseaudio and the daemon exists (I have to restart it with /usr/bin/pulseaudio --start) also the headset is not listed as any kind of device with aplay -l or aplay -L Any help is appreciated. How to make sound work on Open Office Presentation manager?

I have 2 opensuse 10.3 systems with all patches applied. Sound works on both systems. Sound plays on X login on both systems. On one system Open office presentation sounds work the other not. That is .ogg files attached to the slides play on one system the other not. FJM installed both systems. use headphones and line out independently on Intel 82801DB-ICH4

Hi, I want to mix some music and use therefore the headphone-out and the line-out of my soundcard independently. By now, I can only change the volume for both headphone-out and line-out together using master-volume. The Volume-control for the Headphones in the mixer doesn't have any effect. Does anyone know if that is possible with my soundcard? Intel 82801DB-ICH4 Chipset Analog Devices AD1981B . xdtv and recording

Hello all: I've tried myth tv a couple of times and found it in my case unwieldly to use as a DVR. xdtv, on the other hand, has been a snap when I am there. Configuring xdtv to record

TV-Karten Installation (HVR 1300)

Hello together, does anyone know, how to install and configure the Hauppauge HVR 1300 tv-card. Got one and want to use it under Linux, but still now, there was no success on installing the card, I use kernel 2.6.20.2. Any plans to utilize PulseAudio like other distributions are or will be doing? http://www.ubuntu.com/news/ubuntudesktop704 http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/8/FeatureList Pulseaudio is a drop in replacement for esd, supports alsa and oss streams, and has some features that alsa/dmix doesn't have. The only app I've not been able to get working with pulseaudio is mythtv (bug submitted here: http://www.pulseaudio.org/ticket/94 ).
