Hi, I am wondering how I can get codecs for suse 10 for video and audio. I can't even get mpeg movies to play at the moment.

Probably the most important thing is to have the proper modeline for the unstandard resolution (widescreeen). widescreen monitor

Has anyone had any luck with 16x10 monitors? In two cases so far, I haven't been able to get wide screen to work. The current is the most troublesome, if only because I spend $1,000 for the monitor, a Sharp. I inserted the manufacturer's disk and found the monitor, but going through sax2, I could only get it to work (if memory serves) 1200x768, which is much than my 1280x1024 19" 3x4 monitor I am now using. There were large black spaces at both sides, and the resolution was just crummy. This monitor should be good for 1820*1024. I was using the analog 9-pin (as in VGA) cable. Both the card and the monitor have digital ports. Would it help to hook them up that way? -- You know the great thing about TV? Were are Multimedia Option Packs for SUSE 10.0?

Hello. Like a normal user, I want to play my multimedia files (i.e. mpg) on my SUSE 10.0. I've found on the web some tutorials for 9.3 version that says to use YOU and install the Multimedia Option Packs, but I've tried to do the same with my 10.0, and any Multimedia Option Packs are showed on packages list. my system as one AC97 integrated sound card and a SB Live, all drivers seems to work fine. In Suse 10 update, i select my SB Live as the primary sound card, but in hardware list, it appears as the second !!! the problem is that there is no sound with KDE apps, Kaffeine for ex. How to select the sound card, apps by apps or global ? Thanks to all, Pierre
