Hi List,
Regarding video editing applications, it's sad to notice that
The latest Cinelerra 4.4 (Jul 9, 2012, Heroine Virtual LTD) is not yet
packaged for openSUSE. The Cinerlerra-CV 2.2 available from Packman has
not been updated since Nov 13, 2011 (possibly unmaintained?).

Editshare's Lightworks Linux beta 11.1 h is just relased 30/04/2013, but
they say
'Lightworks has only been developed and tested on Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10,
Mint 13, Mint 14 and Lubuntu 13.04. Other distributions may work, but
have not been tested. You're welcome to try with Ubuntu-varients, e.g.
'Edubuntu' - do please let us know the results! Fedora is not a
supported distribution.
The current Linux Beta is only available as a Debian (.deb) software
package only. We will be adding support for other Linux distributions at
a later date.'

My suggestions:
What can possibly be done from some responsible within the openSUSE team
to ensure that the long awaited Lightworks beta, beside its free and pro
version

also becomes available for openSUSE? Possibly offer heop and cross
distribution packaging at OBS?
Thanks,
