Hello,
I contacted Josh (the musician author of the music I already used for
the clip - CC-BY only), to see if I could have an openSUSE specific
music. Here the answer (I follow the contact)

Hey Jean-Daniel! I'm not sure about that - I'm an Ubuntu guy, so I'm
not sure that's allowed. ;-) Just kidding of course, but I'm honored.
What did you have in mind for the music? Style, length, mood, etc. No
promises, but I'll definitely see what I can come up with. Thanks!

Hello :-)
I'm working for the multimedia team of the Linux distribution
openSUSE.
I try to make video tutorials and to have a high level of quality.
Until now it's only a try :-).
A good video have to use some sort of music. Having at the moment no
budget, I browsed Jamendo and found your music with CC-BY licence.
So I used one on this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07pryArO_wM
(see credits on the end).
This one video is still private (not yet validated by the team, first
draft).
I personnally think openSUSE should have a music of it's own, that
could be as recognisable as the chameleon logo you probably know if
ever you got any interest to Linux (not mandatory :-).
So I look for a music composer that could make some music for us. As I
said, I have at the moment no budget, so the only thing I can promise
is to give credit. I seek for music, not voices (but why not a
"chameleon" song?)
If the project goes well, this could mean a fairly high number of
hits,,. openSUSE is not a small project (see www.opensuse.org
<http://www.opensuse.org>).
Well before going further, are you interested by some form of
cooperation?
sincerely
Jean-Daniel Dodin (jdd)

Hello.
I need some kind of repository (ies) for the openSUSE multimedia/video
team.
* one, private, to store the working parts (sound tracks in any
langage, original mpg file for videos, photos/screen shots), all the
parts that we need to make our final work.
* one, public, to store medias in versions ok to the public at large.
Could be (not immediately) video dvd isos, or clips for
Youtube/Daylymotion and the like.
That said, I don't understand well how blip works. What can we upload
there, where will this be spread and how... if usefull, how can I have
an account (personal or openSUSE official?).
May be we need some sort of release shedule? Or do we thing than ASAP
is the better?
thanks

Hey Folks;
I just downloaded openSuSE's libreoffice -3.3.0.3-2.1 and on this system
the keyboard is working (this email is coming from it). The system is a
oenSuSE 11.4 RC1 i586 Athlon-xp with a US qwerty keyboad that always
worked before. What is happening is that no program coming from
soffice see any input. Nothing like delete, spacebar, backspace or a-z
or A-Z work even delete fails. Typing in a cell does nothing or typing
in the subject line. I have looked to see if the keyboard was defined
correctly - no luck.
Anyone have a clue!

Yesterday I got Cinelerra to compile.
I used git version of Cinellera CV (community version) which compiles after
whole a lot of dependencies was manually installed.
Problem is that without Packman libraries there is no dice.
Message that library is missing usually means that libfoo-devel is missing.
The only thing that is somewhat confusing is libfftw3, where openSUSE has
fftw3 package so one has to search for later.
Anyway, without compilation it fails on first file opening, right now it opens
some files.
Also, there is a lot of warnings, which doesn't give me confidence, but during
compilation messages are flying so it is not easy to capture what is going
wrong.
The Cinelerra HV (Heroine Virtual - the original) failed, but I had no time to
check why.

Hello,
I will use qemu to make the video clip capture (the last 11.4 version
don't start in VirtualBox and qemu have a much more stable window)
but right now I can only have the size of the window with the
"decoration".
Is there an x utility to grafically mesure this on the screen?
thanks
