Setup:
- SuSE Linux 9.0 with all recommended & security updates,
- cdrdao-1.1.7-232.
Running toc2cue on a TOC file created by cdrdao (in either read-toc or
read-cd mode) results in a zero-length CUE file. There are no
diagnostics and a trace of the program looks normal. I see in several
email forums that people have regularly used this program successfully.
Has anyone here had the problem I've observed? The TOC file looks OK.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Phil

I am using SuSE 9.0 with KDE. I have installed some new stuff so I can play most video formats, but I still have a problem with Konqueror. If I click on a video on the web, I am given the choice to open it or save it. If I open it, the Kaffeine window opens with the message "Error: No plugin found to handle this resource." If I save it, I can click on it and it Kaffeine plays it with no complaint. Please excuse my ignorance, but what plugin (or plugins) am I missing? And for what? Konqueror? Kaffeine? Xine? And where can I find it (them)?
Tnx for your help, EEE
Hello,
SuSE-8.2
I have very nice avi files encoded with latest CVS from Mencoder/MPlayer.
Very nice images on my AMD-2000 PC even when encoding from TV output.
Problem though with YAMADA DVX6000 reader:
- corrupted sound (have to try several times to have nice sound)
Pause/Forward/backward don't work correctly - nice image though.
Question: does anyone in the list have some experience with avi files on DiVX
readers? If yes which one? Problems? Solutions? YAMADA DVX6000?
Thanks,

Does anyone know how to use analog 5.1 sound with
nforce2 ultra chipset? Sorry if this is easy, but I'm
a linux newbie. I downloaded the latest nforce rpm
from the nvidia site and konquerer gave me a button to
install it through yast, so I did. (Nvidia had
instructions for installing from a prompt, but I
assume yast did the job.) I played around with the
volume settings in yast, but could not find an option
to activate analog surround (i.e. using mic and line
in as center and rear lines out).
Thanks,
Eric

Ignorant newbie needs help from wise oldie: I am running SuSE 9.0, fresh out of the box. If I try to play an mpeg from the internet, the mpeg downloads, the Kaffiene window opens and displays, "unknown xine error." On the other hand, if I download the mpeg as a separate operation, Kaffiene opens and plays it just fine. What gives?

Hi all,
I've just installed version 9.0 PRO and for some reason my sound card
Ive unmuted alsa from within alsamixer and nowhere does it look like it's
muted. Although i'm getting no sound from it (it's a 82801DB AC'97 Audio
controller).
The nw8000 has a special button - a mute button which lights red when the
system is muted and this one keeps being lit - no matter what i do.
I've tried upgrading alsa and downgrading again. Removing the sound card from
the config (using yast) and "reinstalling" it to no avail ?
Anybody have any pointers ?
